There is a super tens race comming up this weekend and ever since I replaced a crapped out throttle positioning sensor my car will hit the rev limiter, & fall on its face before it shifts.
Its doing it different ammounts every time, is there any way to up the rev limiter in my 94 z28 without buying a hypertech power programmer? right now I just dont have the money.

Even shifting it maually wont work, I have the 4L60E transmition, if it weren't for the "E" it would be a great tranny but its electronic and picks its own shift points reguardless if your shifting it or not. Its killing at least a tenth and my car is not running as consistant as I would like.

A friendly dealer could re-program it for you. But you could find a HPP+ on the net for reasonable price.

I MAY have solved my own problem, I took my TPS sensor off and used a drill to make the mounting holes into long slots,
that way when I put it on I can rotate it changing its signal to the PCM making the computer think im giving it LESS throttle than I really am, when running all out The transmition reads that im not all the way on it even though I actually have it floorboarded so it shifts earlier than if it new I was at Wide Open Throttle, I also adjusted the screw behind the throttle linkage to open the throttle at idle some more so the computer doesn't read Out Of limit on the TPS sensor when at idle. Even though the throttle may be open more at idle it will have the SAME idle speed because the IAC truely controls idle speed.

I put it all back together and retarded the throttle reading as much as I could, the car still idles velvet smooth at 750 and as far as i can tell by reving the motor while the car is on the trailer it runs ok too lol.

Only the track will tell. If anybody sees im doing anything wrong please post so I dont screw nothing up, Cross my fingers !

Even though my TPS thing prolly worked I found a place called motorsport technologies here in houston that will remove the rev limiter from my computer for $100, cool now I can adjust my shift points up and down with what I did to my TPS and not have to worry about hitting the rev limiter.

If your interested I have a HPP for sale for $300 obo... I have only used it once and it did wonders for my shift points and other things as well... but since I'm upgrading to the LS1 I no longer need it.

damnit the guy at MTI says the HD in his laptop crashed... now I gotta wait... not! Im getting LT1 edit and doing it all myself, oh well I will no longer be able to afford those headers for a while but at least I have something fun to play with :v)

I talked to the guy who runs AKMcables, he said the TPS thing is a bad idea, he thinks all it will do is lower m shift pressure, ... I researched a bit, I think he is right, well instead im gonna advance the TPS so I can have the thing shift real firm everywhere I go. I love it like that, makes it FEEL like it has balls at least.

Has anyone here every changed their fuel curves or ignition timing with LT1 edit on a stock motor? is there anything to gain, just looking for like .2 and a mph or so
13.4 would be nice out of a Bone Stock Car. I bet I could itch the 12s with a converter and Lt1 Edit
