The 355 is deffinetely nice. It is complete and already broken in. I still would rather have a 383. So if I go with this dudes block, where can I get the machining done over here? I want it to be done right if it's going to be done. Or would it be better to just get a rotating assymbly that is stock specs but forged?

On another note, Tony said to call saturday and guess what? Phone was off. Great.

But hey, now I actually have a place to keep the motor and I'm really regretting selling it. Can I buy it back???

Dennis, if I wouldn't have plans I would not have bought it.
But if I ever sell it because of getting another one I let you know first.

This coming week I will have to finish my yearly ethics training:

They will tell me that I am not allowed to work for the gov and work for a contractor (or be a contractor) of the gov at the same time.
And they will tell me that I am not alowed to use gov equipment for personal gain.
I will also have to pay my tax for my business in germany, oh I forgot.
If I get caught for doing any of above, they will start an investigation and lock up everything.
Would anybody be able to get his car out of this?
Hope nothing like this happens.

Got ahold of Tony Sunday afternoon Dave sounded like he wanted to order a block or get things straight with you. I would try to talk to him soon and see if he could get that 355 for ya.

I'd go get the blk from the states. No place here that I'm aware of to do machine work (quality). Forged 355 w/ lot's of boost handles as much power as a 383. Just depends on the parts of course. Get it done in the states and that way at least you know it was done properly.\
Good luck man,...

My cousin is running a 355 with a T-56 turbo, I believe. He is running 9"1 compression. That thing is awesome. Teal '95Z 'vert w/ a tan top. I can't wait to drive it when I go home. ;)

I got ahold of him today. He sounded like he wanted to resolve the situation. I was thinking the same about that 355. It's already built and I know it can handle some boost. Do you guys have any suggestions on things I should do or ask to prevent me from being the local sucker? I'm pretty sure the guy is a good guy but it's good to be careful. Also, he has no idea how to get it shipped here. Does he have to crate it or will BAX take care of that?

Wow! I just read through this tread. That's a very messed up situation! The reason why I'm even replying is that I know the engine that was in the 2nd Gen. Why? The car and engine were put together several years (6+) ago in Schweinfurt. I was there. As far as I know and can remember, the only thing Lingenfelder about that engine is the fact that the ACCEL SuperRam EFI setup was designed by Lingenfelder. It is a nice setup though. Just in case it becomes an issue....that small block 383 out of the 75-77 Camaro is at least 6 years old and as far as I know not built by Lingenfelder. I wanted to buy that engine as soon as I found out that it ended up at Tony's. As a matter of fact, I still want it. It wasn't for sale at the time. Who has it now? Is the ACCEL EFI still on it?

I'm sure Tony would love to make some money off that 383. As things stand in my eyes he owes me a shortblock. I have found one that I want in the states. That 383 is 100% NOT going in my car. I'm going to try to get ahold of him tonight but it will probably be tommorrow before I actually get him. I will tell him you are interested in that motor.

Well here is a little update. Tony did as he said he would and wired me some money. Not as much as I think he should but a good amount nonetheless. He wired $1500 and the short block is $2500. So now I have to fork out $1000 more for something that should have been supplied anyway.

Well, if he owes you $2500, I wouldn't think you'd have to try to find the rest.

Exactly my point Jack. He seems to think that's all he owes me. Maybe he's mad because I took over.

In his mind I'm sure we are straight. In my mind he still owes $1000.

I can't believe that you still don't have your car..... last time I talked to you I thought all you were waiting for were pulleys and headers? Sorry to hear about all of the problems..... are you sure that you'll remember how to drive the car by the time you get it back... I know your Audi is packed full of power.... but it's no TA.....
