Car alarm.
I've had a few false alarms on my car (96 z28), always in the wet and to date they have always cleared by locking/unlocking the doors (so turning the alarm on and off).
Today its having none of it. If I set the alarm with the key fob it waits 5 seconds and the horn starts beeping. I've unearthed the shock sensor and when I tap it, it has a little red LED which lights up. Closing up the car again, the horn still goes and the light on the sensor doesn't light - I guess that means its not the source of the false alarm.
Both doors and boot/trunk are shut - what else does the alarm monitor?

I just tried removing the shock sensor - just unplugged it from the wiring loom about 3 inches from the sensor. Seems to have cured the problem and the alarm still triggers on the boot opening unexpectedly. I guess this means its the sensor or the wiring loom?

Any help appreciated (by me and the neighbours!) :?:
Jim

I'm having the same problems. When I open my hatch the windows roll down, when I turn on the dome light the windows roll up and down. It used to beep the horn for no reason at all. I took the fuse out of the horn. I'm just gonna rewire my car. Get rid of all the alarm problems and start over fresh.

Damn Roy, you should retire and stay over here and open one of those Fast And Furious speed shops. 9 time out of 10 your the $h*t on electrical problems.

Could you just picture 4 black Z-28's driving in sync robbing jvc electronics at fast autobahn speeds.
Fast And Furious II.
