There we were F-body europe and this guy had this 72 Chevelle 462 BB from schweinfurt. First he said he could beat our F-bodies on top speed, I immediatly called Bull$##t and informed him that we could settle it the next day, he continued for a hour or so in drunken bliss. f-body 97 also informed chevelle man of the f-body capabilities. So chevelle man decided he wanted to do 1/4 mile. I replied I would beat you at that also, now he starts talking about his car 2.73 gears and really did not know very much about his car other than his wife could get groceries from the commisary with that car. So my ruthless pursuit of calling bulls###t continued.( although I do not doubt his wife does get groceries with the car) I was focused on how fast it was and pointing to all of our cars and asked him to pick his poison and pointed at f-body europe cars in a row, somewhere around here he said he could beat us in the 1/8 I replied I would let you go first and then stomp you (OK I was getting brave) and we could settle it the next day. We woke up around 0800 chevelle man was not functioning quite right. I was willing to bet $1000 on this race. He did not have much to say to me after he woke up. So he decided he would go to a zoo rather than hang out at the car show. WOW!!!

Yeah this guy knew how to talk "He said POOP" but never backed it up. He claimed to still be drunk the next day but I think he reallized how wrong he was.

It's a 454 Chevelle. Talking s**t and benchracing is part of going to a car show, so I think you took it a little too serious. However, so did he after a couple of JD & cokes. He does have a '79 Z28 in Schweinfurt that is really nice (nicer and faster than the Chevelle), so he's a Fbody guy, too.
By the way, he didn't go to the zoo, I just showed him the Esso and how to get to the 'bahn (he's been in country about three weeks). My girlfriend and I went to the zoo since she really doesn't get into cars that much and was starting to get really bored. And she is not pleasant when she's tired and bored, trust me!

We really need to get some races going some place soon im interested to see how my car will do against a 4th gen in the quarter mile. Soon i should have my 4:10 posi unit. Right now my one wheel wonder is not holding to well to the pavement. I dont catch traction till im in 2nd. And hey chevythunder how much horses are you putting out with that eldebrock package. I am looking at putting some e-tec heads on my ZZ3. They should bump me up to 10.5:1 compression and up to 400 horses give or take a couple. If you ever get the chance to come down here to K-Town let me know I have a few friends here with 2nd gen camaros. A couple of them are sporting 383 strokers. Im sure we can find a quarter mile strip police free.

Edelbrock says it makes 425hp with 9,5:1 compression, I'm running about 10:1 with the 64cc heads, but I'm not sure how far you can trust manufacturer's hp figures. I'm running a non-posi 2.73 rear end right now, so I'm not a good match for the strip, I do have a 3.73 posi with discs out of a T/A that I'm putting in whenever I get the time. My plans for the car are more "pro-touring" than drag strip, though. EFI, six speed, 17's and a nice suspension is what I'm striving for, you know, a car that'll do it all. But $$$ and time is a problem. I'd love to hook up with you guys in K-town, but my work schedule really sucks, I normally don't get any weekends off unless I request it and possibly take leave. I'll definetly be in Hockenheim 17-19 AUG.
By the way, I got a call from Chevelle man, he was worried that he acted like an ass since he doesn't remember too much. I told him it was all good and that he just talked a bunch of smack with you guys.. He said he knows he can't touch a new Fbody with that Chevelle, especially top speed, but he had to defend his car, you know. He said he had a really good time, though.

I wanna get some 1/4 mile/slow rolls action going to. I've only had 1 real drag race since I have been here! If anyone is ever in the Darmstadt area, (I have a pretty decent place to do it), give me a e-mail.

Bruce...no, I'm not racing, but Glen is. I'll be in his crew, so I don't need one of your tickets. But let me know if you don't use all five of yours, Glen usually has a bunch of people that want to come along.
You should most definetly see if you and Glen can line up against each other, maybe during qualifications. That would be fun to watch.
