I spun a bearing this weekend at Bitburg. So out comes 350 #3 and one 305. I have access to a LT1 but I dont know if I should go that route or crate motor. I have TBI rite now what set up would I have to go with to make a LT1 work. I havent been able to find anything on the web that shows what I need to do to make this work and what kind of gains it will give me. I am trying to get my car in 13's as is. I dont want to pull anything out. Can I get this kind of power out of a LT1 with some mods or should I be looking more the lines of 383 stroker.

A bolt on LT1 should get you there.

Thats cool for the crate motors but I want to compare what it would cost to build the LT1 to put in. Im sure I dont want TBI any more so what are my options? How would I make the LT1 work?

There is no yellow on my car. It takes years of driving to be able to watch movies and race.

Skip the LT1 (sorry Silas and Jason). Put in an LS1 and the 13 will be yours. Maybe more. There are a few articles on how to do it in Chevy Hi-Performance.

I dont have a LS1. I have a LT1. I am just trying to figure out with all the mods I would have to make to fit a LT1 or LS1 would it be cheaper to just go carburated with a crate motor. The stuff I downloaded about swapping the LT1 dosent have anything on getting rid of my TBI. So I still dont even know how to do it yet. I need a computer and wireing harness for a 93.

I saw an article once on a LT1 that was installed in a 3rd Gen. I think it was in the GM High Tech Performance magazine. One or two issues back. They installed the whole fuel injection system from the LT1 on it. Does the one you have come with the fuel injection system?

Just the motor? Long block or what?
If you already have the motor, then you should stick with the LT1. Don't listen to the LS1 guys. They'll make you spend too much money.
Use what you have. Get some heads and headers, and a matching cam.
13's shouldn't be hard then

That was already the plan. But what do I replace it with. I just talked to a guy in the states and he said I can even go carburated. I thought I had to put some kind of FI system on it. I am just trying to see what options I have.

You can go carburated, but if you run the stock fuel pump(the one in the tank) you will need to put an adjustable pressure regulator between the carb and pump.

what about just changing the fuel pump out all together. Would I still need a regulator to be able to ajust it?
