ALL,
Starting on Wednesday I had a weird noise coming form under the car. It sounded like something was loose and knocking up against my drive shaft or the flywheel. I began to think what in the hell could be loose and knocking up against either the flywheel or the drive shaft. It was very weird. When I was stopping fast or braking during a left turn I would here a metallic knocking. However, the car was running strong. So it couldn't be a loose drive shaft bolt, busted pilot bearing or ball bearings. What in the hell could it be.
Yesterday coming home from work exiting off of the Autobahn, the noise came back and i saw and object fly up from under the car. I just knew I screwed something up, but like I said before, the car was running fine, just thought that something was loose and knocking up against the drive shaft. The TA is my only car and I have to get to work. You can see me now praying that I didn't screw up my alum. dive shaft.
I stopped and went back to find an egg sized piece of metal laying on the ground. It was grayish and had nicks in it. My thoughts is the Bell housing. But how in the Hell did I crack my bell housing?
Today I was finally able to get to the craft shop and look up under the car. I was right. The piece of metal I found was from the bell housing. On the driver's side, there is a piece of metal approx. the size of an egg missing and a small hole on the passenger side behind the starter.
How in the hell did this happen.
Thoughts? Well I have a stage 1 centerforce clutch with McLeod adjustable clutch master cylinder and drill mod. Neither Centerforce or McLeod mentioned anything about aftermarket bell housing needed. Is there a way to over adjust with the McLeod?
Thru the hole in the bell housing, I can see small nicks on the pressure plate. There it is my assumption that the pressure plate is pushing up against the bell housing which caused the crack and later break and hole in the housing.
Where do I go from here? It that assumption right and what did I do wrong? Do I need and aftermarket bell housing with more room or do I need to adjust the slave?
Does anyone know the part number for the bell housing so I can order one thru GMdirectparts.com. I'm in Germany so I can't just go to the dealer. Should I get a better bell housing?
Please give advice and counsel.

Osiris,
Sounds like there is a real problem in there. You might just want to go ahead and replace the damaged pieces and replace the bellhousing. Thunder Racing sells a new SFI approved bellhousing for the LS1 F-body. Might be a good time to up grade depending on the price of the factory replacement. The other route is to get ahold of Billy Grahm Auto Salvage in AL......he deals in 4th Gen F-body stuff and will ship to Germany. As for what caused all this I don't have a clue but something is wrong in there. It makes me wonder if you had a bolt back out on you in there and was playing pinball until it exited the bellhousing. The pressure plate shouldn't be up against the bellhousing at all even if you over adjusted the slave. My money is on a bolt coming loose & falling out.

Did you loc tite your pressure plate bolts or slave cylinder bolts? I'm with Val On this . One of the bolts came out and and got pinched between the fly wheel and the bellhousing.

Guys,
I didn't even think about one of my bolts comming loose and getting kicked out by the flywheel. Now thinking about it. It must have been! Damn! Any one know the bolt and thread size? I'm going to need one and some lock tight for the bell housing replacement!
The dealer is the last one to be in my trany and cluth AO. Sorry bitches. I knew that I should have done the work my self!
Good looking out!
