Have a friend with 98 T/A - low coolant light comes on...had to look it up cause ive never ever seen that light come on in any 4th gen before...I need to go over and look, but can I just go over and splash fill it with that Prestone "Any Car type" coolant...or is a purge needed.
Thats just it, I've always just purged and flushed...the person just wants to make it easy and fill it...is it ok?

I agree with Roy on this one. Just make sure that it is not so low that it gets air in the system. Then you will need to fill it and remove the hose going to the throttle body crossover (coolant) line. This will bleed the cooling system with the car running. I doubt you will need to do that though.
