Do you mean KU31? Unfortunately I cannot say anything about them. The Kumho MX should be pretty good, sticky and cheap.

Heck, Michelin ones run around €400 upward a piece
Also, found some reports on the net complaining the KU31 didn't last very long ... !?

D@mn they are cheap ... Michelin tire I saw for €380 on a german page ran $288 there ... Guess that's what happens when 90% of the german cars run pizza-cutters below 205 ...
Of course, time and cost of getting them here is the problem with tirerack

As I said, didn't you mean "KU31" instead of "Q31"? The MX (different from the KU31) may not last as long but the stick very well (a friend of mine has them on his Corvette, and he bought them here for I think 600-700 Euros for all 4).

Just looked at another couple options ... any comments on the BFG g-Force Sport? From the ratings I saw on Tirerack, they're better in every position than the Kumho Ecsta MX ... and similar ride comfort and tread wear as the Ecsta SPT ...

Hm that surprises me (I see the ratings). BTW Garry, I'm driving the BFGoodrich KDWs.

Garry,
I'm running Michelin Pilot Sports (not the PS2's) in 275/40 17. They have great dry traction so far but wet traction is not so good. When I was in the market for some new tires the new Vredestein Utrac Sessanta got my attention (distribution7.de). Unfortunatly I was not able to find any test results about them. However, if your ride is a summer daily driver I would take the KU15 at reifendirekt.de

Garry,
I'd stay away from the KDW-NT's, the grip is good but they are WAAAAYYY too noisy at highway speeds. I just bought those and I hate them, it sounds like a small Cessna is flying right above me when I hit 90mph. The KD's are great tires but they aren't that good in the wet. The best wet tire is Goodyear's GSD3 and they're very quiet; their dry grip is almost the same as BFG KD's too. I don't know what the prices are over there, but I'll be shopping for new shoes while I'm there too.

I read a couple posts about the BFG g-Force that also said they were loud - but only for the first couple thousand of miles ... they were supposed to have quietened down substantially ...

Save your money. If anything, try the original KDWs, I don't think they got as many complaints. I have almost 5000 miles on mine and I don't see it gettign any better. It's the tread design that makes the noise, it won't go away until the tires are bald.
