One of my friend is driving a 1994 LT1 trans am. When you are driving over 200 km/h and then you want to drive a little bit faster, than the automatic transmission is going very fast one gear down and the engine scream up. For example, when you are driving a LS1 automatic, then it will not happened.
Is there anything, what he can do, that this will not happened? A module, power programmer or somethin else?
I hope, you understand, what i mean. (Bad english)
Jens

I don't think programming will do it. There is a valve for the 3-4 shift that has to be either modified or replaced. I could be wrong on this. My 95 Camaro Z28 was the same way. Under wide open throttle it would not shift from Drive to Overdrive. I replaced the tranny with an aftermarket high performance tranny and it would shift to overdrive under full throttle.

i know, that i can buy a valve for the TH700 transmission. But i can´t find one for the 4L60E.
I don´t know if the hypertech programmer will help...

hey jens good luck with the house and I agree that a house is better then a car. I know in the 700r4 you could get a vette servo or 3-4 valve I don't really remember. I don't know about the 4l60 I really don't know how much is computer controlled on it.

I´m thinking of buying this LT1 trans am. It is a 1994 with 69000mls. US-Modell in black with darkgrey leather and t-tops. It has german papers, etc.
It is better, to keep the money for the house, i found a very nice house, lets see, if i can buy it. The decision of the house will be on march 8th.
Thanks for your wishes.
When somebody knows more about a valve or something else, please let me know.
Jens

Jens ,
Part of the problem can be solved with the Vette Servo (see URL: http://www.700r4l60e.com/store/catalog/ ... p-162.html) for an example. I have 3 F-bodies & two use the 4L60 trans & high speed driving with a weak 4th hold will start to burn the clutch pack.
Superior makes a kit (P/N A74902H ) that is advertised as: "700R4 / 4L60 / 4L60E, 4th apply Super Servo by Superior
Superior # K034, comes with 4th apply piston, cover and seals for better holding capacity in 4th gear. Lip seal design ".
See URL: http://www.bulkpart.com/Merchant2/merch ... 700R4servo
I hope this helps a bit!
Gary

Remember that our cars will produce a lot of heat in the trans at high speeds (US Freeways or on the Autobahn). I have never noticed a trans problem at 200 kph (125 mph) but it is very rare that I can keep these speeds up without having full air & ground support from the CHP (California Highway Patrol) or Autobahn Polizei as I remember them in Germany. There was one event where I was able to do 145 mph ( 233 kph) for about 4 minutes when I noticed the dropping out of OD issue. About 5 months later my Z28 had burned 4th gear clutches. You can guess what parts were included in the updated rebuild. Now, I use 28,000 lb trans coolers in all of my cars & thats running 160 degree F thermostats. Watch your readend oil also, I use Amsoil 100% synthetic to help the rear stay cool. The 3.5 hours of high speed desert driving between the California coast & Las Vegas during the summer can be a real trans or rearend killer!! My next trans update will be with a modified 6L80E & I can't wait to get started, 400+ hp & 6-speeds!!. I will ship one of my cars to Germany during a business trip to "test" that trans out. It should support 180+ mph (290 kph) Autobahn runs with very little engine changes.
Good luck!
Gary
