This goes especially to Roy:

Any opinions to the Prostop 996tt brake setup as offered on frrax.com?
How does it compare to your Movit system, is it superior or inferior?

Ben

What kind/size of wheel spacers do you use, Roy to fit the brakes?

On the front I use MOVIT specific hub centric wheel spacers. I don't know the thickness right off hand though.

The 996tt kit requires a 25mm spacer PLUS an additional spacer before the rotor mounts to the hub.

The Movit is more expensive with similar hardware. TUeV for the other kit could be done I guess.
The spacers thing is what makes me think. I don't like them... generally.

Roy, what is the weight of your Movit stuff, i.e. calipers, pads, rotos compared to stock? Is yours much heavier?

With the 996tt setup and those spacer, you need new wheel studs.

Now, let's assume we take a STOPTECH kit which would need as the only spacer a 10mm one (I'm not 100% sure but that doesn't matter right now). Would I also need new wheel studs with the 10mm spacer?

I also found the H&R DRM TRAK+ spacer which looks like it has built-in new wheel studs...?

Yes new longer studs are mandatory . Also the Stoptech Kit is a pretty good kit .

OK. :)

Roy, can you take a look at this:
http://www.h-r.com/index.php?inhalt=pro ... sprache=de

The DRM system should be for our cars. It looks like that spacer is mounted on the "old" wheel studs and has built-in new studs. Can this work? I mean, aren't the old studs subject to forces that may lead to their failure with this system?

I don't quite understand that...

Ben

As long as the spacer is hub centric it should be fine. BUt Ireally wouldn't want to be putting the stresses of Hockenheim through them.
