Hello everyone. I found this forum though LS1tech. My name is Ed Hutchings, and I own Automotive Technology Inc/www.thehpfactory.com. I came over last year to tune some Corvettes, and I developed some pretty good relationships while there. I have been asked to come back, actually someone bought an engine from me, and requested that I come over, install and tune it. It is a 403 LS2 L92/L76 combo. I am an ASE master tech, with L1 (advanced engine performance) certification. I have been tuning LS/LT cars for years. I also do Fords (SCT dealer) and most any stand alone system. I use HPtuners, EFIlive, tunercat, LT1edit, LS1edit. I have the software for FAST XFI, ACCEL DFI, ELECTROMOTIVE, HOLLEY COMMANDER 950, MICROTECH, ETC. I also have a portable wideband, as well as a 5 gas analyzer. I'm looking for a few more cars to tune, so if anyone is in need, you can PM or email me @ edcmat-l1@msn.com. If anyone needs references, you can search my screen name on either LS1tech, or better yet, Corvetteforum.com. I have quite a following over there. We've been involved with some pretty nice builds, with some of the higher profile members of the forum. I will be over there from March 22 to March 30. I would like to thank Gary for letting me post this, and as I said before, if anyone needs references, let me know and I will link you to real live people, dyno results, stories of peoples experiences with us, etc. Thanks, and have a great day, Ed

Can you work with EFILive? I may be interested if you can PM me with what you are looking for dollar wise.

Where will you be at? When the Mustang-guys had a tuner over here last year, they did three days of back-to-back tuning at a place near Stuttgart ... I could point some other folks to this post and see if/where we can put a "tune-meet" together ...

We will be in Karlsrue (sp?) for the most part. not sure where will be crashin. We stayed in Hockenheim (sp?) last year, and really liked it alot. Any ideas about where to stay would be greatly appreciated. We could always stay a couple days here and there if need be. I talked to a couple Mustang guys last year, and they told me about a tuner coming over for them. Just wanna let everyone know that LS and LT cars are our PRIMARY business. Thanks also for the quick response and feedback. Hope to meet some of you guys soon.

Hey guys. OK, prices. My normal US dollar prices are as follows. 400 for bolt on cars 500 for head and cam cars, and NA strokers 600 and up for forced induction. ALL of my tunes are very thorough, VE tunes. Basically speed density tuned, then MAFs dialed in afterwards. This type of tuning offers the best driveability, throttle response, and the fewest problems with out of whack fuel trims, return to idle surging, etc. Because of the dollar/euro conversion, we will be pricing a little differently, so as not to kill you guys. We're gonna do it like this I think 300 euro for bolt ons 400 for H/C and strokers 500 for forced induction Silas, yours will be 400, because I dont have to license it. I've built my rep on high quality tuning, making radical cams drive damn near like stock. If anyone wants any references, just shout. I'll get you in touch with some guys I've tuned.

So, $99 less if a licensed EFIlive is available?

SRZ wrote: Thanks Ed! Will there be any street tuning done or just on the dyno? Always street tuning too. At least a good road test to make sure everythings ok. I do most of the driveability tuning right on a dyno. So theres usually not much I need to change once it comes off. I dyno tune a little differently than most guys. PRobably nothing like you guys have ever seen. Unless you watched a car being speed density tuned on a load bearing dyno. As for discounting licensed cars, I could give some discount on those too. some wheres around 100 bucks US. If you guys cant get enough people together, and see that a dyno is rented and paid for, we can do a group discount for everyone. I will be using a dyno in Karlsrue (sp?) at a Bosch shop, to do the car I'm coming over for. I dont know what you guys have been using, but I'm open for suggestions. Also, me coming over is a done deal. I'm not needing to depend on coming up with a bunch of cars to tune to make the trip happen. So if only 2 or 3 or 4 of you guys need tuning, thats ok, no big deal. If thats the case I would actually have a couple days to see the country!! Anyways, let me know what you guys wanna do. As we get closer, depending on the response, I will need confirmation and some deposit money paypaled.

Sounds good to me I already have mine on SD, with EFILive COS 5 and a LC1 WBO2 ... Dunno what happens to my self-made tune once I get my goodies in over the next weeks Only problem for me is, I'd have to be done no later than Mar 25th ... (and Mar 21-24 are holidays here, unless you made a special deal with the Bosch place )

Why do you have to be done by the 25th?

I have an LS2 conversion in an '88 Firebird and it has already been dyno tuned, I'm happy with the tune but I need to clean out some codes. I have several codes that are constantly present but I think they are a result of the conversion and not very relevent. The only 2 that may be accurate are rich fuel codes for the left and right bank, Garry plugged into my car and we saw the two O2 sensors are giving different readings and this may be the cause for the "rich" codes, but I'm not sure if it's due to faulty O2 sensors or an exhaust leak. I've looked at the headers back to the O2 sensors and I can't see a leak anywhere. Would you be able to clean this up?
There's a large American community at Kaiserslautern and it's about an hour from Karlsruh. If you want to make a trip over for a day or two then I can arrange for you to stay at my place, or there are several hotels in the area.

I can take a look at yours if you need. Its not odd for the 02s to be different, but it shouldnt have rich codes. What codes are they? The numbers specifically. Are they rich A/F, fuel trims at lean limits? If so, somethings wrong, and turning the codes off is not the answer. As we get closer, I'll give everyone a contact # for me over there. If you think theres a bunch of people that want some kind of tuning done, we need to get em lined up. I would be ok with coming to that area and spending a day and a night. BTW, theres a chance I'll be back over in June too.

I'll have to post the codes up in a few days, I think I wrote them down somewhere.
I guess we'll have to wait and see if there are other people who need work around Kaiserslautern. My car is on jack-stands now but I may have it back on the ground by the time you're here, so I could drive it to Karlsruh.

Ed there are few around here that could use a tune. Just let me know when the details are out as we get closer.

Ed,
I meet you last year in Mannheim, I think you were working on a firebird??? Could be wrong about car, anyway I am Will, and I had the Red Mustang pictured below, I was building a 383 Stroker and putting a T-76 turbo on it, We talked briefly about it, but I am sure you dont remember... I am running the combo stated with a AEM EMS, can you tune this? I am making it a track only car, and havent even got the EMS in the car yet, but plan to do this next week (time allowing). If so what kind of price would I be looking at? thanks... Feel free to PM me... Will
