I was just thinking about that:
It is known that too much camber can hurt braking by narrowing the contact patch of the tire with the road, right? Furthermore, camber isn't needed when going straight, it is needed around the curves.
So why aren't cars for the track set up with 0.0 degress of camber and the maximum degress of caster possible, as caster provides "dynamic" camber?
Any opinions?
Ben

Oh OK. I was thinking about new alignment setting when putting on my new tires and rims... but looks like I'll go with the current settings.

Stock fbody alignment settings for a Fbody are somewhat lacking.
At least go with -1 degree camber and at least +4 degrees caster more if possible. Remember to have the variance no greater than about 3mins of difference.

Yes, that's about what I have now:
-1 camber,
4.5 caster.

No problem with the tire wear on the inside. It's the left front wheel on the outside which wears...

As my car is going in for measuring next week, I was wondering ... is the -1/+4 setup good for a "mostly street use" car? As I'm not hitting the Ring, I do not want the setup to be too far into the "racing" setup ...

Mine is set on _1 Camber and 6.3 caster. That was all the caster I could get.

Can anyone recommend a good performance alignment shop in the Mannheim/Heidelberg or even K-Town area that will set the car up the way you tell them to? AAFES is NOT the answer! (Not an F-Body, but still needs a good alignment

I don't know what place they will do the alignment, but I hope it will end up the way I told them to ...

If you don't go to the right place, they might use to the factory settings even if you told them otherwise before... guess how I know...

(Not an F-Body, but still needs a good alignment it's been 2 years, but I always went to the tire shop next to the Esso on the Opal Circle in K-Town. They had no problem putting it to my specs other than not offering a warrenty on the tires and they made a small fortune off of me over the time I was there.
