You will have to get used to the thought that driving cars like this isn't a cheap hobby once you're outside of the USA/Canada ... shipping and taxes s@ck big time, as does the time it takes to get a hold of stuff ... and if you do manage to order something in Europe, you will wish you hadn't ... one pretty extreme example ... I asked a local Opel dealer about piston rings for my LS1 ... sure, they could get them (after all, they service Corvettes) ... it would only run me 89€ ... PER PISTON! That's more expensive than a whole set in the US ... and it would take 3-4 weeks to get them ... (oh, and when I got my previous F-Body, 98 Camaro from the same place, they told me that spare parts would only take 1-2 days to get, as they would get them from somewhere in Europe ...)

89€ its more expesive than the whole car.In US you can buy a car like that for prices betwen 100$ and 30,000$ for an '89 aniversary Pace car 3,8 V6.I hope you bought piston rings and your problem its over :)

I would like to buy a 3rd gen Firebird for parts from Europe but I can find one in bad condition. Also I don't know if I can send a car to Europe if its only for parts.I saw on the US car sites ,some cars for parts that are actually better than mine, but its not normal to pay 200$ for the car and 15000$ for the transportation.

Cheers,Adrian.

Do you intend to buy the manual on-line, or should I look for one?

Adrian,

I'll bring a manual back for you. Just keep looking for a parts car in Europe, you'll find one eventually.

Best place to search is the UK. I find it so much cheaper to buy parts there than from the Germans who seems to overprice their stuff. Either that or the Brits are underpricing, I don't know.

You can buy a driveable 3rd gen in the UK for around €1000-1500 if you look in the right places. It won't be pretty but it'll drive. It's a long and expensive drive to Romania though. All depends how desperate you are I suppose.
