I went to Nurburgring to check it out, it was awsome. Anyway, does anyone know what the best tires are to run? I seen some cars with the Toyo Proxes R888, but I was planning on getting some Hoosier (RS 303 I think). This car isnt my daily driver so Im ok running all race tires. I have drag radials on the back now but they feel weird in corners.

Yeah better R888, you could get into trouble trying to run race tires during the public session at the Ring. But be prepared for ugly noises from the Toyos. BTW when have you been there, last weekend (Sunday)?

Yeah I was there Sunday. I am getting some Movit brakes this weekend and Im gonna go ahead and order the Hoosier , they were also reccommended by PFADT. But they are still DOT so they are actually street tires, so I wouldnt think they would care. And I didnt see them looking at anyones tires.
Hey, are you really in Mainz. Im in Wiesbaden.

The problem with the Hoosiers , If the tread is not shaved to racing depth , the tire will chunk when it gets hot and driven hard. Once shaven to racing depth , tire is illegal to drive on the street.
Movit brakes are nice , Tell Guido Hi for me.

Yes, I'm in Mainz; in fact I have been at the Ring this Sunday, too. Plan to go again next Sunday.

Cool, funny Ive never seen your Z around....Anyway, we are all getting together for a cruise up to Ramstein this Saturday if you wanna come. We have a good group of cars and we pretty much "own" the place when we arrive. Let me know if you are interested, I can PM you my cell. We really need more GM support, its just me and one other. Im also on militarytuners.com in the Europe region, check it out. Also, we could roll out together for the Ring when you go too if you want. I could use some pointers and it seems you have some track experience.

Well, I wasn't there with my Z28, that's why you didn't see it. I was there with my other car (red Megane RS). Camaro won't be ready for the weekend, I'll be taking my other car again. BTW, the track is not open this Saturday, only Sunday! I'm no expert driver but I do have a couple hundred laps experience there. If you come this Sunday, I'm mostly at the grass parking lot behind the gravel parking (near the traffic circle).

"couple hundred laps" thats a lot. I wont be there this weekend. Im gonna be at Hochenheim, there is a drifting event. But hopefully the following week. My tires should be in and should have my new brakes on.

Camaro is not ready. I'll be there with my "red car". Just look at the timing trailer near Garry's Firehawk (or Volvo)...

Yep, very busy. I think we had to close the gate for spectators at some time. BTW, I will be at the Ring this Sunday, what about you?

Josh, Might be a good idea to get all 4 tires the same . Especially with those two types that you have. The SPT is ultra performance summer tire with a TWR of 320. The XS a extreme performance summer tire wit a TWR of 180. Both are good tires but the XS really beats the SPT in handling on dry pavement. The SPT has a slight advantage on wet pavement.
You may start having handling issues with the mismatch tires on the car when you are aggressively driving. XS on the front SPT on the rear may cause an oversteer condition in turns. With the tires switch around to SPT on front and XS on the rear may cause an understeer condition in turns.
