Hi, here's a post from the Mustang board, maybe some more folks would like to join in ... Fast SVT wrote: This day is my 30th B Day. I have been wanting to participate in a nice cruise for a while now as this is my second tour in Germany (probably last) and I have not seen anyone (that I am aware of) put together a nice classic tour that ends at a castle. For those that do not know, the rhein valley area is a UNESCO world heritage area and just wonderful. Lots of motorcycles ride up and down the rhein/back roads in the spring/summer. The plan is to meet up at the Hainerberg Entertainment Center around 1000 on Saturday, 30 APR. From their you can get gas since you probably came from Bamberg/Stuttgart/Ramstein. Once everyone is set to go we will head out and take the back roads through the Taunus forest to Lorch and then up the Rhein to St. Goar (you will see a minimum of 4-6 castles at the end of the day). We will have to take a ferry to cross over to St. Goar but it is cheap and fast. Once at St. Goar we would head up to the castle which has a nice sized parking lot and go to lunch/tour the castle (between now and 30 apr I'll recon some alt parking sites). From here there is an esso down in Rudesheim so you can choose to go to the nearest esso and home or stop on post in Wiesbaden depending on your route back. It will be a family event and all of you will love it. http://www.st-goar.de/17-1-rheinfels-castle.htmlInterested? I imagine this is one of those things I'll just have to do and people will show up or not. Original post is at MightyMustangs

Sounds like a nice tour, I've done this in this area a lot a couple years ago. That ferry in St. Goar is BTW operated by some relatives of mine.

Hope it's still a go, last post on the Mustang forum didn't sound too good as far as the organisational issues go ...

Good ideas. I think I won't have the Camaro back (gets some stuff done the days before including ABS module repair) at that date but anyway... Anyone else from here besides Roy and I (and Garry?)?

Here is the map track for the Schotten ring venture which starts in Mainz Kastel. This is a pretty good parking lot for all to get to. Its roughly 134 km. SchottenRestaurants: http://www.taufsteinhuette.de/Or the Berg Gasthof which doesnt have a webpage that I can find. But the food is decent.

Looks good too, as long as I don't have to go back to Mainz once we're done in Schotten

I'm regrettably not going to be able to make this one. I'm taking the family to the Netherlands to see the Tulips that day. Scott

So in to keep the ball rolling lets decide lunch for 1pm for either trip. If there is no objections, then I will get the iteneraries completed for both. Decision can be made for which one we want to do at a later date.
