As I heard those "birds" recently again in the engine compartment I'm going to replace the 3 idler/tensioner pulleys (2 for the A/C belt and 1 for the main serpentine belt). The question is: Is it enough to just change the 3 pulleys or should I better get the whole tensioner with pulleys installed? Does the tensioner get weak after 12 years? What do you think? Besides, I don't find the 2nd A/C pulley at any part shop, only the one that is part of the tensioner, but not the other one???

Not sure how good your parts supplier is, but a cheaper option might be 1 step smaller belt, depending on total lenght, most of the time 8mm shorther should cure the slip...

Roy: Yes I'm talking about "4", "5" and the one on top (that tensions the main belt). What I cannot find anywhere is "4". EDIT: Now I've seen the link. So it is a separate part. Thank you Roy! EDIT2: And what do you think, should I change just the pulleys or also the 2 tensioners?

I just realize that "4" is the pulley while "5" is the WHOLE tensioner assembly. Hmm, is that pulley on it the same as "4" ???

I just realize it is. I looked at one of the manufacturer's site (DAYCO) and it's the same part (number) for both A/C idler pulleys.

Thank you, I have bought just the pulleys, not the tensioner.
