Maybe he just wanted to check the car as a Grand Prix is not something you see over here very often...

Scott, you still have 2 laps left on your ticket, right? How about this weekend? Of course one should check if they even open (track has to be clear of ice stuff etc.).

Oh Scott and I were at the Ring on Saturday. I think apart from our cars there were maybe another 10 or 15 (max!) cars out there. Totally different from October...

Yeah, I had a great time on Saturday, I learned alot (even though they almost didn't let me on after the exhaust test. lol). Ben, my wife is going to get me GT5 for Christmas so I can do my "homework" Scott

If your exhaust sounds too loud they test it with a decible meter. German law states that your exhaust cannot be over 95db throughout the first half of your RPM range. They are "technically" supposed to test it every time you get a safety insp. but most places don't. We saw them test one guy and he obviously failed cause they didn't let him on. I was a "little" over but they let me on anyway. I think it help having Ben in the car. (Thanks Ben) lol

This is only correct for US military, not for Germans (we don't have a noise limit for a stationary car -- what we have is a limit in a certain speed and RPM range). I suppose this was done as it's not possible to check the "original German limit" quickly on a car. The 95 dB limit on the Ring comes from the Ring itself, i.e. it's their own rule. Other tracks have other limits (stationary or moving car) or don't care at all. Quote: We saw them test one guy and he obviously failed cause they didn't let him on. Yeah that was a badass sounding Porsche Cayenne. Quote: I was a "little" over but they let me on anyway. I think it help having Ben in the car. (Thanks Ben) lol It was not clear to me if you were still within the tolerance range or not. They didn't say "too loud" and also didn't say "OK" (98 resp. 100 vs 95). GT5: It will definitely help you to remember the track, great to hear!

haha, yeah right. I'm still in the "training" mode. It is very realistic and the racing lines are helping a lot. I haven't gotten to play too much because my children have wanted to play their games.

Sounds good (except that the children don't let you play enough...). I've opened the season Sunday, 1 week ago. It was extremely slippery on the track but even less people there than in November.

Anyone likes to visit the Ring within the next few weeks or maybe let's do a cruise like we did last year?
