Ben and I are heading up to Nurburgring on Sunday, 13 May.
All you "lurkers" and "don't get out much" people need to start planning. If your single, you have NO excuse not to come. If your married, 10 days notice is MORE than enough for the wife! (if your military and you think she won't "let" you go, just tell her you have CQ, a detail, or whatever she'll believe. lol)
Basically, if you don't come and it wasn't because of work... You didn't WANT to come!
(I just hope they don't check my exhaust again LOL).
Scott

Would be great to have more people from this forum there... like in the good old times... Scott, most likely you won't have a problem (haven't noticed a single noise control on Monday/Tuesday). However, I might still come with my other car as my exhaust valve is stuck in "open" position and I don't want to get into trouble should there be checks by police (not by Ring officials)...

I'll try and make it this year, the problem for me is I work on the weekends so I would have to put in leave plus drive the 4 hours one way. Are there any road courses or track days on this side of Germany?

mcgarnicle: You're from Erlangen? There are no tracks close to this city...

We were already going 2 weeks ago. Maybe I'll come, too, this Sunday but I'm not sure yet. I still did not look for pictures, but for whoever is interested, here's a video from last Thursday from my car on Hockenheim track... lots of traffic but it was fun: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sa2pe3Pf93g(use 720p/HD for best quality)

Nice video Ben. That track looks like fun! Don't worry about finding pics. I found a couple of my car. Scott

Yep, Hockenheim is fun, just different from "the Ring". You can "play" more with friends or other drivers and there's no left-passing-only restriction.

Ben it looks like you had a little bit of brake hop going into the Spitz kehre. decent times for the traffic that was out there . Like to see you run when its very empty.

...for which I must be very lucky if Hockenheim does not decide to finally offer more Tourist dates... but even with lots of cars, it's fun. It was quite hot that day, I felt how the tires lost grip at the end...
