I got back last night. It is so nice. My car is an absolute monster. It might not be quite on par with Bruce's, but it is WILD! It really needs a tune, though, because it shuts off when I stop. That is very annoying. I am definitely happy. I got the seats in today, and they are tight, but comfy. The harnesses will definitely take some getting used to. Just thought I'd share my news.

Glad you made it. Hope that cutting out solves itself. Mine did that for a while after I reset the computer so maybe it will fix itself.

Thanks everyone. Roy, you just had to say that. Today I started hearing something. Can anyone tell me what a broken valve spring sounds like? I wasn't even driving it hard. I went for a ride, and then by the time I got home, I started hearing some kind of sound, like air being forced out. I don't know, but hopefully someone can explain what it sounds like. I'm hoping that's what it is, because if I broke something other than that, I'm getting rid of this stupid car. Bruce, can you tell me what yours sounded like?

thanks!

Jack is the sound side specific. Do you hear a tapping noise also? Tapping sound in the valve train area is a pretty good indicator. Can you feel a power loss? Did your MIL light come on? It's not that long to pull valve covers to inspect springs , rockers and pushrods.
Best of luck man

Thanks for the quick response, Roy. It is coming from the upper portion of the driver's side. There is definitely power loss. No tapping, just something like air being forced out, like a gasp for breath.

Don't forget to check the vacumn lines first. A vacumn will let you right off the bat if you got a broke intake spring or partially open intake valve.

JAck

Tap into a manifold vacuum line . Depending on your cam you shoild get a steady reading for normal . the number is immaterial with hipo cams. Now look for a sharp dip in maifold vacumn. It can go almost to zero. If you see this on the guage . it most certainly an intake valve not closing. If you donot see it , it is probably an exhaust valve not closing.

But don't forget to look for open vacumn lines also. Did your check engine light come on when it happen or was it already on?

Nevermind, false alarm. I am an idiot. Part of the weld where the egr provision mates up with the header got loose somehow. I am taking it today to get fixed. I am so relieved. I should have known by the black stuff on the header.

Thanks for all the info though, Roy. ;)

Jack, looking at the symptoms, have you tried checking the weld on the egr provision by the header which may have somehow come loose?

DOH!
