The freakin thing won't start. First the battery was extremely dead and would not jump. So, I went and got a new one. Now it will crank , but it won't start. I checked fuel pressure and had about 52PSI at the rail. Then used a plug tester and got clean spark. That tells me the injectors must not be firing. BOA279 suggested I clean the VATS connections both in the cylinder and on the key. I cleaned buth, but it still won't start. Any ideas? I have to get it out of the storage area TOMORROW!

Are you getting any SES light or similar?

The light is staying on, but I am sure it is because it is only cranking and won't start.

Oil pressure kicks up to 60 and volts are steady.

Hm ... reading the code might help ... or scanning some motor info during crank ...

Garry, I would love to read codes, but I just got the car yesterday and don't have a scanner yet. I bought it site unseen and had it shipped from the states....believe it or not.

If ANYONE would like to help today, I will be out at the car in Ramstein Meisenbach. Give me a call at 01511-869-4133.

I am also looking for someone to help tow it. I do not have any equipment for that other than a truck.

Thanks
Brian

I'm about 2 3/4 hours away, which doesn't really help (plus on 24/7 duty) ... maybe you can ask Roy if he can check the trouble codes?

I have only met him once so I don't have any of his contact information. Hopefully he will chime in here and give me a call. That is exactly what I need at this point.

Some simple stuff
Check INJ1 and INJ2 fuses . If they are good disconnect the battery for a min of 30 seconds . reconnect and try .
If it still doesn't pull the two 168 pin connectors and look for corrosion .

Thanks for all the suggestions.

We got it all figured out tonight. Everyone of the plugs were fouled out. I am hoping it wasn't from something that was done during the shipping. My theory is that when I was trying to get it started with the dead battery the injectors were firing, but the plugs could not causing a very lean condition and fouling them out.

Thanks Silas for the plugs.

The beast is ALIVE!!!!!!!!
