this is me all lonely in the middle in 1 billion degree temps (about 6:00pm). The other one is me and this guy (older, about 45-50) with his 99 auto 1le , its major power mod is a wet shot nos kit. He says he ran a 7.68 with 150hp jets and full slicks. If that is true, he was having a bad day, cuz pass for pass I killed him except on one where he beat me by .3 and 8mph. (He was using the 50hp jets)

that reminds me of an old addage
"believe half of what you see and nothing of what you hear
when it come to racing.
Oh BTW GOOD win.

I will give him his props though, he was running on straight street tires, and I dont think he played with the adjustment on his konis either (1LE).

BTW we were by far the slowest two cars there, with the exception of a toyoto cellica and a eagle talon. ...By FAR the slowest.

Rob,

I'm glad you finally got to legitimately race, and beat, a LS1!! Good job. :)

I dont want to make this more than it was, because

1. I never lined up with him
2. I had DR to his street tires
3. It was a bad day, because of high humidity and temp that may have affected the LS1 more than me.
4. I varied which lane I ran, and he always ran the same one, so maybe that affected it.

His car was by far faster trap speed than me by between 5-8mph so if this was the 1/4 I probably would have seen tailights, but who knows. His best run with juice = around a 13.2, and my best run of 8.9 = around 13.7.

This is my friendly disclaimer so as to not start the inevitable engine/suspension/gearing battle posts that usually follow.

The car tries to be as consistent as it can, but that damn driver is doing everything it can to screw it up!

I made 7 passes on this night, and the ranged from a 9.6 w/2.6 60' (1st pass, the tree caught me daydreaming) to a best of 8.9. the other 5 were all within 2tenths of the best with 60' between 2.1-2.2.

So I would say the car didnt drop off because of heat, or mechanically give up anything, but the driver just cant consistently launch the 6spd effectively enough to do brackets.

Find the G-spot this is the point where it does not bog and not to much tire spin, mine is 2500. 2200 bog-2700 tires smoke. Point is once you know the G-spot you can hook a manual choke cable to the throttle (hook it up to the normal accelerator by the firewall) right before you stage pull throttle cable to G-spot stage and launch the same every time, computer controlled cars are very unstable and it does not take much to miss the g-spot,all I do is sidestep the clutch stomp the throttle to launch it works pretty good and does not send you to the poor house.
