Just got orders to Molesworth with a RNLN 10 Oct. Any one have a idea what INS will cost on a 98 SS? Also can I get my N2O filled over the pond? Thanks all.

I'm TDY to RAF Fairford at the moment... no Camaro though... but I heard that the insc isn't that bad.. it's the vehicle tax that's going to do that... some where around $290 or more a year! Thats alot a dough!

Wa hey more FBE in the UK.

PLEASE CAN I USE YOUR APO PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.

Shipping parts via an APO is a great help.

Road tax fisrt £165 for 12 months (£1 = $1.58 I think).

Insurance - hmm depends on who you are - what your history is etc etc etc.

I pay £650 fully comprehensive with unlimited miles and parking anywhere, which isn't too bad.

Please help with APO

I pay about £500 insurance with a full no claims bonus. In the UK, you insure a car, not a person. You get a percentage discount off the premium, year on year, up to 65%. Accordingly, the full premium on my car would be around £1500.

There are specialist American Car insurers like Adrian Flux who will insure you relatively cheaply on (UK number) 0870 0777888 or try Colchester Insurance Centre on 01206 792927. In the UK, limiting your mileage to under 7500 miles a year brings a discount as does having it garaged or fitted with an immobiliser.

Just make sure nobody takes advantage of you by trying to get you to import loads of parts through your APO. There's this character called Jagsy who is infamous for doing it and yet he's a simple Northern bloke with a funny accent who doesn't know how to use a spanner and definitely needs a new battery to go drag racing.

By the way, watch the GATSO speed cameras and sneaky mobile speed detection vans. They carry a £60 fine each time you're caught and 3 penalty points on your licence. 12 points in 3 years means a 6 month ban. It's a form of indirect taxation.
