I am in the process of putting on 18x9.5 C5 rims with 65mm offset in the rear. I understand I need a spacer for them to fit right. Is there anyway I can use a 1" wheel spacer ? The reason I ask is b/c I don't want the wheels to stick out of the rear fenders. Will I get away with this ? Would I have to get my fender lip rolled in ?
Thanks

Roc they'll fit w/out spacers. Reason people are suggestion them is because it's a narrow rim and they'll tuck considerably inside the wheel well w/ out them. Remember the higher the offset number the further in they will sit. You use a spacer make sure you get longer wheels studs.

SRZ, thanks for your help. I tried putting them on allready and technicaly they "fit",but when I would corner had they would touch the inside. This and the fact that they look sunk in due the the 65mm offset make me wanna get "hub centric wheel adapters" from H&R.
They seem to be of very high qualitly and I heard nothing but good things about them. I'm just unsure about the 1" in the back, I don't want them to stick out off the wheel well.

I don't think they'll stick out w/ a 1" spacer but if they do you know to go smaller. Rolling the fender lips is always a good idea because you just never know down the road you may want to go larger. I'm in the process of trying to have a pair of custom wheels made w/ either 17X13 or 18X13 wheels in the rear on 335 rubber. :)

well I tried explaining you yesterday, but it seems like you don't really get it! :D

Here is a picture that will help you understand the offset.

You measure the offset from the centerline! So even if the y2k wheel has a bigger offset then your stock wheel it still comes more outside then the stock bcoz. it's 9,5".

As I said, I wouldn't go with a too thick spacer. Take the min. needed to not rob on the inside or just measure and see how much you can go to the outside. You better roll in the lip like that you can go wider! ;)
