Get rid of the tire. It will do you no good . Just carry a can of runflat like the vette and M roadsters do and be happy.
You could mount it on the front but the handling braking will be less then optimal.
You could mount it on the rear but you will fry it to shreds on takeoffs or dog leg down the highway.
If you have four piston calipers , it won't fit any way because of the lack of rim offset.
In a camaro it takes up valuable space in the rear quarter panel for the crumple zone. What would have been a routine quarter panel skinning now requires a some nice surgery to straighten.

Great idea, I had considered doing so to save weight. Was curious though, does runflat mess up the tire once it is used? I know chances are, once it gets damaged it needs to be replaced anyways but was just curious.

I don't think tire places are allowed to repair Z-rated tires anyway ...

I haven't had a spare back there since day 1. Never thought about the run flat though. Nice idea.
Roy how much did the estimate come out to? IF you don't mind me asking.

Tell them to shut up.
I was told that "He said POOP"...of course I as due for tires anyhow...but I made them run the repair as a stop gap as I wasn't about to pay their prices or even AAFES prices for new tires.

I had to use mine once, so it will stay right where it is. I had to drive about 50 miles with it, so it is pretty important- especially if you drive your car every day like I do, at least when it's running.

LOL. I think he will keep that stuff if he has to get rid of it. If not, I need to know what's available.
I was hoping you would just tell me Roy. We are all concerned.
