is there a proper way of doing this or should i just start ripping everything out and change the belt? and also what size belt?

it's a 92 rs, 5 speed, 305 and i want to take it out because i plan on changing it from tbi to carburated. i want to squeeze all the horsepower i can out of this boat anchor.
