Has anyone tried removing the front two windows? (3rd or 4th gen, should be similar). I'm looking at taking the windows out of the car at the junk yard, instead of removing the window tint I just installed on my car before shipping it.

The windows are held onto the bracket by rivets, but I might be able to remove the bracket by a few bolts. The windows are also automatic, so I may need to power them up to get them out. There isn't a whole lot of room in there.

I looked at the car today, but it may be more trouble than it's worth.

I've seen how-to's before on replacing the window motor ... they covered window removal, too ... I think I remember it saying to make sure you have a second person .. ;)

Which car are you talking about.....Ramstein?

I actually gave up on pulling mine out before I sent it to the yard, but it really shouldn't be tough.

Yes, it's a third gen at Ramstein. I found a thread on thirdgen.org and it sounds like a big PITA. It'll be difficult to remove the rivets with the window in the door, and then installing the window won't be easy either. I think I may just remove my tint.
