Just wondering - has anybody replaced the battery connectors with "standard" European ones yet? This would make it a lot easier getting a replacement battery in Germany

Yup, something like that ... Guess I'll see if I can get something welded together or so ... pick up to regular terminal connectors, use two nuts to the screw the stock connectors to, and get it put together ... should work out ... question is if regular batteries will be held down decently with the stock fastener ...
The batteries I have don't seem to have an Amps printed on them, just some obscure rating (is that the max starter amps delivered?) ... what would be a decent size battery?
