I knew that would get your attention, but it isn't what you are thinking.
I just got another smoker that I need supplies for. Where can I get good hardwood to smoke with? The base has bagged mesquite that is OK. I really want apple and hickory though.

For fruit wood check the orchards . Prunining should be done already.
For Buche(Beech) or Birke (Birch) check the bau mart or the Forst Meister or one of the local wood sellers. Hickory is not native to Germany but it is over here also.

I know my dad picked up a bag of hickory wood for BBQ smoking many years back from the PX ... no tellin' if any place still caries stuff like that nowadays ...
