Need some advice. I am ordering some parts for my car, and if I go ahead and order the MAF, it drops the overall price of my order, as well as shipping costs. So, before I do it, I was wondering, is it really worth it? I have heard some owners say their cars ran worse after changing from 75mm to 85mm. Thanks to all for you input!

I recommend you check out the posts on SLP and also on LS1Tech. Based on what I have read, I'm not going to get one, at least until I get back to the states where I can get dyno-tuning done. In general, it seems to me like as many people have problems as get a slight performance gain. A lot of people can't tell any difference. From what I have read it seems that there is no real performance benefit if the motor is not modified. I would do some research before I bought it.

RTZSS,
I've had both the 75mm & now the 85mm Granatelli. I did notice a difference from stock to the 75mm(by the seat of the pants). I sold the 75mm for the 85mm and again noticed a difference. This time it was more on top end(upper RPM range). I went for the 85mm because I plan upgrading the heads and cam later. Some will tell you don't wast your money and some will tell you do it. I will tell you that I can take you for a ride with my factory stock unit and change the MAF to the 85mm and you WILL notice the difference. Maybe I've got one of those "lucky" cars that it did make a difference with. In the end it's your decision and your money! Good Luck!

Thanks to all for the replies! I wish I could find somewhere to do a dyno prior to the install. I am going to get the bellows, 160 thermostat, and the MAF, all SLP. I will let you guys know how it turns out.

They found a dyno somewhere here in Kaiserslautern. ZBLKHELLRAZR knows more about it.

RTZSS,
If you don't notice a difference I'll be really surprised. It won't cause it to pull the front wheels off the ground but you should notice a "seat of the pants" difference. Look for the difference in the mid to top end power.

Definitively noticeable difference: LOUD.
When putting those Ex-Hawk parts on (MTI Lid, K&N Filter, SLP MAF descreened) the first thing i noticed is: Wow, that´s louder.
IMHO the car lost some in the low end, but after reaching around 4.000 rpm there is a noticeable swooosh sound and it starts pulling harder.
As the LS1 is said to have a straight flat torque curve from say 2000 to 5200 rpm and there IS a gain after 4.000 i´d say it´s worth it.
I´ll have both my stock parts and the SLP with me for the next couple of races, so i´ll see the difference.

Thanks for the info! I would be interested in seeing your results from the track! It actually made an audible difference?
