I am a new guy on F-Body. I have a 2000 TA (Ram Air) LS1. I have free mods done to the air lid and the bottom of the air intake, borla catback, granatelli maf, taylor 10.4 thundervolt 50 race wires, bosche plat. +4 plugs, smooth bellow, k&n air filter. I have a gorilla chipe stage 2 ready to put on and I have ordered a SLP header set w/highflow cats, QTP electric cut out and I am just waiting for them to arrive next month due to back order. Have you heard anything about the freemod that can be done to the throttle body to increase fuel flow? Let me know what you think. I will be painting calipers, washing and waxing the car and puting my new wheels and tires on this weekend as well.
Brian

Welcome to FBE! Sounds like a nice package you're getting for your 'bird ... any chance of seeing you over in Bitburg 20th/21st?
On the TB - what places did you check out? Install University, Project Trans Am, etc.? Going through Google, there are a couple of articles concerning TB mods ...

Welcome Brian. Saw you yesterday at the Auto Hobby shop washing your car. I should've introduced myself but I always get crazy looks when I do. I was the guy in the red pickup next to you in the line waiting to wash my truck.
My only advice. Ditch the plat plugs and through some NGK Tr55's in there. Never heard of this gorilla chip and I'm still searching the web for it. What does it do exactly?
Are you getting ready to deploy or coming back from one as you were in DCU's. Hope you'll be around this summer.
Silas,

I wont be at Bitburg due to me being on QRF recall status. I will make my way up there though as soon as I can get my exhaust in and installed. Does anyone knows someone who has a similar car with some tunes they will let me use once I get the mods put on?
I saw you looking at me at the car wash. Should have said something. I am not deploying. We had a 29th SG party that day. Godsmack was supposed to be there. I really dont know for sure. I had better things to do then to spend all my free time at a party with the people I work with down range in Afghanistan. A year with those people is enough.
The car looks different now. I got the calipers painted and I put my new SLP wheels and Dunlop SP Sport tires on yesterday. The bad thing was I spent 5 1/2 hours on washing, polishing and waxing my car yesterday just for it to rain this morning. Aint that a bitch. oh well, what else can you expect from Germany.

If I were to rebuild my entire engine and replace the heads on the stock LS1 for my car. what would be a good combination to get 600hp from motor. Keep in mind I also want to supercharge and spray as well. If there are any ideas out there let me know. Also how much hp and tq can a stock 6 speed hold. the car is a 2000 TA Ram air.
Thanks guys.

Plenty of places to choose from since you've got the standard engine to build off of on in the LS1.
LS1tech.com comes to mind as that's the new mecca for the LSX people and plenty of vendors to choose from. The tranny can hold just don't dog it out the rear will be a different story. Procharger or Vortech but I like the Procharger as it's easier to install and costs less. Keep the boost under 7lbs unless you have meth or the stk bottom end will go BOOM! Heads and cam package will get you close to 500 @ the wheel depending on the like Roy said "reliability". My choice if I went heads and cam would be LS6 heads and intake from LE LLoyd Elliot or AI Advanced Induction and custom cam from Brett Bauer or do a whole package from any one of them.
Best bet though is to look on http://www.LS1tech.com and see what people are running for combo's.

A real good street strip combo that isnt going to require you upgrade everything is to run with a small port head like the dart or afr 205 heads, comp cams 224/228 cam fast 90/90 intake setup and good exhaust. Guys on ls1tech are running 470rwhp with this setup. Thats very near 600fwhp!
I recon thats the best bang for buck setup.
