I was wondering if $6500 was a good price on an LS1 and Tranny. I found one in the states with about 30K on it. It is in Texas so I am in luck.

please tell me your not thinking on putting a $6500 motor in your car just to gain 30-45hp.
BTW: a new crate LS1 longblock w/ECM costs less than 6k, and any 'ol T56 would work 93-02

For that amount of money you could buy a 383 short block and a set of ported heads and gain alomost a 100 hp. I wouldn't recommend upgrading from an LT1 to an LS1 your probably going to spend a lot more than $6500.00. It always ends up being more money than you think.

Bruce: We can race but I want you to know you'll probably win. I figure I'm going to throw a V6 in the car and say hell with the V8. I will still race even though I'll probably lose real real bad BRING THAT SH!1 ON. that way I can show you how to make a deap fried chicken sandwich.

Thanks for all the good info. As I have done more research about, even with getting the complete set up I will still get nickled and dimed for awhile putting it together plus it is my only ride right now. So I am moving more to the complete engine swap at one time (383) when I do it. Again Thanks to everyone that replied..

"deep fried chicken sandwich" that was pretty good however. Something tells me you would never put a V6 in that Green Z.

Maybe if it was the Buick Grand National V6 I may consider down sizing a bit. But since I don't have the money to costume fab an engine I'll just have to build a sweet little poultry basher. You know about 6yrs ago Bruce when I was stationed at Bragg I went to Robin Sage, while doing this they taught us how to kill animals and cook them. Do you know what the first animal I killed was???? You guessed it I stuck a chickens head under a frigen stick and pulled up on it's legs, leaving a headless chicken. The moral of the story is don't let me get to close to the chic I may have flash backs
True story not really to my liking. It was true though they sure do run there a$$E$ off afterwards.

I was in 18th FA BDE 1st Bn 377FA (Air Assault M198 Howitzer 155mm). I was there two times already it's a good post to go to. You have the mountains up nort beaches to the east and a whole crap load of 1/4 mile tracks. There is a pretty nice 1/4 mile track right in Fayettville down by the Air port.

Good true story. I landed on my head and broke my back on selarno DZ while jumping out of a perfectly good airplane if the airforce has one. But you are right chickens can run there a$$ off even with a head though so watch out!!!

Ok you got me confused... I know Selarno isn't the best DZ but what's with the PLF? How did you hit your head first? I think you need to have your wings revoked. See that's why you only have 13...
And if it was a C-130, it wasn't a perfectly good aircraft.
