If I can find someone to mod my LS1 here in the UK (and it's a big "if"), do you have to reprogramme the computer? Bear in mind I wouldn't have any idea on mechanical mods myself so would have to get someone to do it.
Assuming I got the engine pumping 400-450bhp, would the stock converter handle the power or would I have to change lots of things. Don't go getting too technical on me now.

stock drivetrain should be fine, auto or manual? the rear ends suck, that would be your weakest link.
as for tuning, I don't guess there would be shop's out there with LS1 edit, but you would need tuning to get the max performance from the cam. the car would run no problem, you'd prolly get an SES light though.
what cam are you thinking about? you also will most likely need to upgrade the valve springs to handle the new cam's lift.

I have no idea what cam I'm considering as I wouldn't know the difference between a hot cam and a piece of bumpy metal so would have to be advised on that. I'd also want to change the valve springs and rockers for something more substantial.
My car is an auto with a 2.73 back end which is supposed to be the strongest if not the fastest.
Aside from the cam and engine would I have to change the torque converter?
And I'm not even going to consider changing the cam myself. I have a habit of stripping things that never work properly again or destroying perfectly servicable parts in the process in a quest for unnecessary perfection.

2:73 gears do have a pretty nice top end, the reason why they are strong is because the pinion is HUGE!
yea do a better set of spring and some 1.6 or 1.7 rockers
it wont be required that you change your Torque converter, but a nice 2500 rpm stall would compliment a cam swap nicely.
BTW do you have header's/exhaust, you will need those to get the full performance of a cam swap also.

I Think I have the answer for someone to Mod the LS1 in the UK.
http://www.lindenspecialvehicles.com/main.html
This guy is the official importer of Holdens in the UK. I spoke with him recently and he is the first person (over the phone) that sounded like he knew what he was on about.
He is going to Billing in summer so I intend to check him out more there.
He says he fits the Vortec supercharge and aftercooler to the LS1 in the Holdens and has done one Z28 already.
The Vortec web site states 470HP and 450+lb ft torque - yum yum.
He is also talking about getting the LS1Edit program.
I quizzed him on all sorts of stuff from air boxes to MAF to suspension to brakes and transmission and he gave me some very good answers (well from what I know).
On the transmission side - you can get a nice performance kit for the 4L60E which beefs the box up. It enhances changes making them more crisp and precise - better for more power maybe. Anyone else know anything about this kit????
His plan is to become the LS1 specialist in the UK. Sounds interesting - lets watch this space.

I think I've heard of Linden before, or maybe I am just confusing him with Lingenfelter. Either way, I hope you guys are able to get him to "hook you up"!!

I just got a quote from Linden and they want just under £3200 for a modified engine that pumps 470hp (cam, lifters, sprokets and PCM programme, not supercharged).
Now that seems a mighty good deal as my investment in my car would still only be around £16500 and I'd have 65hp more than a Z06.
Forget I just said that....that's parts only.......

It's roughly £1 = 1.5 US dollars.
I've since browsed round the site and concluded they charge way too much. A supercharger is £8000 fitted. An LS6 intake is £1600 plus compulsory bigger injectors for about £800.
If you look at their induction section, the prices are quite scary.
Looks like it's back to the nitrous but where do you mount the bottle if you want to retain the T-top storage facility?
