Does anyone know about MAC Cats? Some people in LS1tech.com say that they will not flow as good as those by random technologies. So my question is will these cats flow better than the stock cats on my Camaro? I will get ride of my stock flat y.pipe so I've found a catted y-pipe on ebay for less than $300 and was wondering if this catted pipe would be a good upgrade?

Here is the link:

Thanks for any inputs. :)

I replaced just the y-pipe on my 01 WS6 and there was a difference in performance. The MAC set up is better than stock and for the price it sounds too good to pass up.

What brand of y-pipe have you installed? 2,5'' by SLP?

Did you have to weld it on or just bolting on?

LS1,
I bought a G-2 y pipe from LG Motorsports for $225. NO cats. Bolted on in the front but had to weld it to the "I pipe" due to it being about 1" longer than stock. Still running stock cats but the Y-pipe is 2.75" in dia. It has a noticable sound difference(deeper) and feels more responsive. Haven't had it on a dyno to see if it actually added HP but it should of over the stock y pipe.

There were flow tests done on the MAC cats awhile ago and they did not flow as good as the stockers. I have always been told that the MAC cats were not that good. Do a search see if you can dig anything up.
