I'm having this lil prob after I put the SLP Smooth Bellow. My MAF looks too much up, so I'm afraid of closing the hood.

Image

I could cut another hole in the bellow so I can turn the MAF lil more down, but I was wondering, can I move the housing part so it'll fit? I tried removing or turning it but it won't go and I'm afraid to break smth...

P.S: I'm having the Granatelli Delphi 85mm MAF (looks exactly like the SLP one).

I don't understand what you mean. I have the smooth bellows, and I have no problem with clearance issues. Maybe you can take a picture, so I can see what you're saying?!! :)

I see the problem- you need to turn that MAF 25 degrees clockwise, so it sits right. The top portion of the MAF (flat metal part) should be flush with the hood. Do you know what I mean? The connector should be sitting lower. Take the lid off of the MAF and turn it.

yes I know, but how do I turn the MAF without turning the housing? I tried that but it doesn't move, maybe I should use a hair dryer to make it warm or smth?? If I turn the MAF together with the housing, the bellow wont fit so I have to cut another hole in it...

Loosen the clamps, and rotate it. The maf housing is part of it- it's all one piece.

aH, I see what you're saying. Just rotate it at the throttle body. Take off the lid, and do it that way.

What holes? All you have to do is loosen the clamp at the throttle body, and rotate the whole bellows clockwise.

Those holes are for the threads on the screw. They allow you to tighten and loosen it against the clamp.

Nevermind. I see what you mean now. I'm an idiot.

It has that on the maf side, too? You should be able to turn the maf housing. I don't understand what's preventing you from doing that. :?

I don't know about that. I don't have it, but I can't imagine why it wouldnt' rotate between the bellows and the maf housing. :dunno:

Loosen the clamp where the smooth bellow meets the MAF and the clamp where the MAF meets the air induction lids. Grasp the MAF housing fimly and rotate it. If it won't move then take off the air lid, remove the MAF meter. Leave the smooth bellow on the throttle body. Spray a very light coat of WD-40 on the MAF end that slides into the smooth bellow. Ensure you don't spray the WD-40 inside the MAF housing. Then it will rotate no problem. I know they are a tight fit.
