How many 12v sources are there on the car? I know of the ignition and fuel pump being sources for this. I'm asking as for people that have a lot of wiring done on their car in terms of additional guages, ewp, etc where are they getting all their sources from? Is there a limit to how many times you can tap the same 12v source?

I've got to install my ewp plus the warning light kit, along w/ my accusump using a electric valve switch, heated 02's AND the XFI as I'm sure it uses a 12v source as well. I've got a 200 amp alt so I'm covered there.

Lastly grounding. Can everything be grounded at one spot or doe is have to be distributed? Thanks. I hate wires.

O.k. I will try and remember the best points on my LT1. I will PM you my phone number and we can talk about this. It will be hard for me to explain in writing. Now, Using the same ground does not hurt anything. The only problem being if you have a bunch of grounds stacked on each other you may not get good contact to the body. I spread mine out with no more than two grounds per point.

Electrically, grounding should be the least of you problems ... just screw it into any place that is clean and has low resistance.
AS for 12V, you should make sure that whereever you get it from has a strong enough lead to supply whatever needs you have - when in doubt, pull a new cable from the battery (w/fuse of course), that way you can't blow anything else ... :)

Disclaimer: I do not know what I'm talking about as far as cars are concerned, it's just based on my basic knowledge of electricity and electronics and common sense :)

You do not want to hook up all the accessories from the ignition. It can cause it to burn out and that is pricey. Like Garry said, sometimes you just may have to run another wire from the battery with a fuse and relay if possible.

Yes there is a limit on manythimes you tap the same electrical source or point. It all comes down to wire guage and the amount of amps you are drawing.
I am no electrical wizard.
But I would run a medium duty relay from my fuse box (Key on ign on to a remote universal fuse block and wire everything from the universal fuse block. Yes you can have one spot for grounding , but ensure it is a good ground.

NX is this what you are talking about?

The relay I didn't find much as I really don't know what I'm looking for. Went on summit and fuel pump relay's etc. Does it matter? 40 amp?

The fuel pump relay kit would suffice for that purpose . just watch your total amperage. The raeson for using the relay to energize another fuse block is to keep from drawing excessive amperage through the stock wiring and fuse block.
Remember the function of a relay is to pass heavy amperage through its contacts while being controlled by a relatively low amperage signal circuit.

Well Spade I've got a total of 6 guages. 6! Not including the EWP and early warning kit (luckily it comes w/ a relay) as well as the Accusump and it's wiring kit and 2 more things I've got to hook up.

We'll see how it goes. :D

I you sure you are still driving a car or jet? :D With that kind of power you need then I would pull it off the fuse block in the engine bay. Good luck with all that wiring. lol
