I drove my car on Wednesday from Bamberg to Hanau and back again. Halfway to Hanau I noticed the tranny temp was at 180* and rising. The tranny has never gotten that hot before even in the summer. By the time I reached Hanau the temp was at 200*. Now my car is an automatic so I do not run the high mph like the 6-speed cars. I drove it back at around 10pm. The weather was alot cooler. I could only run 65-70mph to keep the tranny temp below 190*. I thought maybe a cooler line was pinched. I checked it out yesterday at lunch and the lines were fine. I checked the tranny fluid and it was fine. Thank God it was not burned. Then I had to drive to Wuerzburg yesterday. Same thing again. Tranny temp reach 210* by the time I was on post. Then once I left post I met up with a White Z06. We did two races from a roll. I dropped the car into second, we went, and he pulled about 2 car on me. I noticed that my revs were going up fast but the car was not pulling. Tranny temp went from 185* to 210* in about 10 seconds. I limped it back to Bamberg and scanned the computer at the craft shop. Sure enough, Code P1870 (Transmission Slippage) was thrown. I think the TCI SSF 3500 converter is toast. It is not locking up at all. This pisses me off because it only has 10K miles on it. I guess it is not a good converter for the autobahn. Now I am not going to make the first two races of the year. I have had some bad luck this year. It extends from bad parts or people owing me money. My project has been set back month after month. I am just venting a little here. But I will say that the Z06 sounded good because I was behind him.

Don
Sorry to hear about the bad luck also.
Sounds like you ran into Great white. His white vette has a LGM 402. It muscled out I believe 490RWHP.

It does fly. Even with a new converter I doubt I can hang with that. Well, unless I spray.

I appreciate the offer but my car would eat a stocker in a few days. I am going to order a Fuddle 3600 built to handle the spray. How long did it take you to get yours?

10 days after they siad they said it was in the mail. took longer to square away the shipping (overseas apo ), I paid $90 for the express mail. The trouble is getting them on the phone as john is the only one who answers it.

Damn sorry to hear about the TC. It's always something. 10K on the last TC you can't send that back to be looked at? That should've lasted a lot longer I would think.
