how much more does a iron ls series engine (6.0 truck) weights in comparison to a alum ls engine ?
i read somewhere around 60 pounds, but thats seems way to little,
as a bare ls1 engineblock is 50 kilo's and a iron would only be 80 ??
thanks.

Do not know about the weight, but the iron block is better to build up from what i heard and holds up better. ( when you are going with something with much of displacement)

Look at the world products LSx Warhawk block w/heads. It'll go 454ci with no mods and is all alum. It was designed for abuse!!

GM Performance is supposed to be coming out with a LSX block that will go to 427 Cu In and supposed handle close to 2000 HP. The cost is planned to be around $2000. Don't know any more of the details.

That wouldn't surprise me at all with the demand for a 427ci.
