I bought a K&N FIPK from Jim Pace and had it sent to my sister's address in Maryland hoping she could bring it over as hand luggage but it was too big so we UPS'd it over and it arrived with the wrong filter. An FIPK with the wrong filter is like a race horse with no legs - bl**dy useless. So I contacted Jim Pace and he spoke to K&N who will only send the replacement filter to Maryland, not the UK. Bear in mind that the FIPK box is sealed and the filter inside is in another sealed box and Jim Pace could have sold the kit to someone in Russia as far as they knew. The fact is it's their fault. Anyway, just venting my annoyance and telling people what K&N are like. Guess I'll have to annoy everybody and ship the whole damn kit back.

As a follow-up, I had a long heated exchange with Jim Pace Parts and the best they would offer is a replacement filter to Maryland or I could ship the whole thing back at my expense and they'd refund the purchase price. What a bunch of d*cks. I contacted K&N's HQ in America and got an instant and very nice e-mail offering instant replacement of the filter shipped to the UK at no cost and an apology for their agent. All hail K&N and up yours Jim Pace. I suggest you buy elsewhere if customer service is something you value.
POST SCRIPT
By the way, Jim Pace suggested that my sister should have opened the sealed box and checked the contents before shipping. You know, my sister, the expert on K&N filters. Afterwards, I realised that there's a Jim Pace catalogue INSIDE the sealed box so they must have opened it and not noticed at all. I hate Jim Pace. Always will. Let this post forever remind me what a bunch of clowns they are.

And then a replacement filter turned up in Maryland...
Luckily K&N will still send me a replacement filter to me direct in the UK and have said I can keep the one in Maryland plus I've got this "general purpose" cone filter that came with the kit. I'll have to see if that will fit my mate's LT1 Trans Am. Perhaps I can construct a system using two FIPK filters mounted side by side. Hmmmm.
OK, how do you delete a thread????

What is the size of that cone filter length, inlet ect? You maybe want to sell it?

I think it is absolutely ridiculous that some merchants are so out of touch with the needs of those overseas. Especially when it comes to shipping. Unbelievably, those poor excuses for capitalists would rather lose a $1300 sale then ship something over seas. I know what part of the market I'm gonna try to capture when I grow up.
