What's the diff between the LT1 and the LT4? I know the LT4 comes in the 97 SS. Is there something special about it?

LT4 came only in 96 vettes, and 100 '97 SS and 29 '97 TA's

Besides differant heads/intake/cam/block, its pretty much the same as a LT1 :-ok:

BTW doing the "conversion" like me, or Mike, or anyone else with LT4 parts, is only the heads/intake and usually a LT4 "Hotcam" so its not really a LT4 conversion

The reason I ask is because I am buying the 97 SS at Mainz Kastel and I want to know if the hop-up parts are different than for the LT1.

Not all 97 SS cars are LT4. Check it out and then you will know what you will need differently...

in my above post

1997 SS - 100 cars produced
1997 TA - 29 cars produced

you arent going to just happen across one, they were stickered at 40k, and most dealers were charging 60k for them. Every SS was bought, before the first one was produced.

Okay. I prefer not to have one actually. I want to be able to get aftermarket stuff for my car. If it is a rare car then not very much shat would be avalable for it and it would cost a fortune. Peace

rare car? yes, extremely

parts avail? same ones avail for the LT1's.

If you could buy one, you'd want it. And more than likely you will end up modding the LT1 in alot of the same ways it already is.

The LT1-LT4 is kinda like a brother relationship.

The LT1,LT4-LS1,LS6 is kinda like a second cousin twice removed relationship.
