Got a stk TB and want to swap the spring out w/ my soft BBK. How hard would it be? Looks to be easy but w/ my luck lately easy has become costly.
Thanks!

Kinda off topic, but did you have the infamous BBK TB whistle?

Yep! But not as bad though. Sounds more like extreme suction. They're a POS IMO throttle response is way too soft I miss my AS&M.

Are you gonna have your FLP's welded where it meets the I-pipe and the 2 pipes after the cat/off road pipe connect?

Hey I have two stock TB if you want when I help you with your car (Buffing) I'll bring them with me and we can try and figure it out. Let me know if you want to try, I don't blame you the BBK is a really touchy unit.

Rob the LT4 heads you bought what stage port did you get and if you don't mind How much did they run you? I was looking into AFR but If I can get a better set of stage 2 for cheaper or a little more I'm all for it. Appreciat any info.

I was thinking about the buffing on the way back to work tonight. If you want since your putting your car away for the winter. Do you remember what my car looked like after I stripped all the wax off of it and re buffed it (shiney as hell). If you want when we do you car we can do that also. It pretty much removes all little scratches on the car. The big ones you need to work at but the results are worth it. Give me a call and let me know.

Not intially, but I will get it welded up eventually. I smoothed the TB alittle trying to stop some of the BBK sig, so I hope it helps. I'll be able to shed alittle more lite in about 3weeks, that is the target date for the finish date. Just in time for a snowstorm!!!

They are basically a stage I, its not really advertised (I suppose I could call Lingenfelter for the specs, but I havent), I paid 1650 for the CNC'd heads. The deciding factor for me, besides wanting the "LT4" valvetrain, was that It would cost the same for ported heads, Intake, cam, 1.6RR and gaskets, as buying comparably worked AFR heads. Obviously, the smarter, more powerful way would be to have GTP work your old heads, but at 2k that was to much for me to justify.

I completly agree with you on that one 2k is a lot of money. You got a damn good deal with that package that's quit the amount of stuff for the price you paid. Do they have the Stage 2's?

They are advertise only as CNC'd LT4 heads, no stages of porting. That is through Scoggin Dickie, there may be other people that do have stage I - III, but I didnt find any.

How much do you think it would cost minus the cost of the heads. If sent them back to a family member and had them take them to a machine shop and have them seriously worked. I know this a crazy question seeing as everyplace has a different price quote but what do you think would be an average cost. I'm trying to find the best route before I order I don't want to have the (DAMIT) factor when I could get them for a better price.

John sorry for getting your topic off track.

Not going to be real helpful, but I would guess low end, around $300 per head. The bad thing is, most good people that port, are used to iron heads, and unless they have the deep pockets to afford a CNC machine with a decent program, then its by hand, and that opens the door for mistakes or mismatched flow between left and right.

Might require a leap of faith hoping the person does it right when your several thousand miles away. Or you can just do springs/RR/ and some real mild bowel/intake clean up on your own until you track a "reliable" shop down.

G'luck
