on the vented opti there are 2 vent lines, I know the smaller one goes into the intake, but where does the 2nd one go?

TIA

no, I know where that one goes, but there is another rubber line (approx 1/4 diam) with some type of filter/checkvalve/thing inline, but I dont see where it could go. Is it a vacumn line? (doesnt make sense) or just some drain line (doesnt make sense either)

Chilton/Haynes/Helms make no mention of a opti other than removing it, so I dunno.

even if they sent me a vette opti, it should still have all the same hookups? BTW, its a 95 opti with harness (that was fun hooking up) and vacumn lines. The 1LE intake already had the hole for the one line.

okay, I finally found mention of the twovacumn lines running to a vented opti, only problem is it shows where they connect to the opti only (well duhhhh!). If any of you 95-97 people would be so good as to look under your car and chase the second bigger line to where its hooked up, I would be mucho apreciato.

thanks

BTW if possible can you tell me if the 4pin connector on the top left of the opti is a long looking plug or a short one like the 94 style....you should be able to tell by looking as to what I'm babbling about.

TIA
Rob

O.K I went out there this morning and cleared a foot of snow and ice off the car so I could open the hood, here's what I found.

That line you are talking about runs into the intake manifold on the drivers side, just under where the power brake booster line plugs into the intake, lower right of it to be exact. Mine has two blue check valve thingies in that line.

As for the plug mine looks oval shaped with 4 wires running into it.

Hope that helps, let me know if you need further assistance.

thanks for braving the elements for me Jeff. The place you describe, is where the EGR vac line hooked up. (I think I just answered my own ? :) ). I need to look at the LT1 intake, cuz LT4's didnt have EGR. On my intake, you have the brake line, directly below is the PCV, then lower towards the front is a vac fitting.

Gonna drive the car to work today, if I luck out with the 1.6's staying tight (dont ask :( ) then I should have 45miles on it by tonight.

Thanks

Rob

On mine lowly LT1 intake it is to the lower right under where the big rubber hose comes from the brake booster, about half-way back on the intake.
If you want them rockers to stay tight put a dab of loc-tite on them(on the little thing that you turn with the allen wrench), works wonders.

Let me know if you figure it out.

Jeff
