What are your thoughts on plugging a 306 into a LT4 setup. I am mostly wondering about the Mt Everest lift vs. LT4 coil springs. Am I going to have problems with coil bind?
All this math gives me a headache.

Everyone keeps telling me to get a 305 grind. Don't know the specific specs. Ryan Gerrard is helping me on this.

The CC306 specs are:
Duration 230/244 @.050
lift .510 .549
Seperation 112
Its a real winder, power band is 2500-7K
BTW Dave a CC305 and a LT4 Hotcam are just about identical. Its a good emission friendly choice, were as the 306 doesnt make the bunny huggers smile

I keep getting told over and over that the 269 is what I should go with for good power 1500-5000 range. Actually I was told the 305 grind would probably blow my rearend.

I never heard of "269".
As far as the rear-end, I dont really know what people are telling you. With a cam, you should only be concerned with, lift vs. coil springs, power band, emissions, and if your engine can breathe enough to support it.
Shattering the ring and pinion is just the nature of the beast in 4th gens.

That is a good article. I am going to have to actually do some real research know instead of just reading magazine advertisements!!!
I'm still up in the air if I want to do this myself, doesnt look to hard, but once I get it back togethor and notice I still have about 60 pieces scattered all over the floor..........

Well maybe it's not called a 269. the specs are:
intake:218
exhaust:224
lobe sep:112
The part # 07-502-8 296HR-12
Every tech guy I talk to says this is my best bet. The rearend part: he said the 305 cam needs high rpm and that much rpm would wear my rearend out in about a month or so.

The CC306 is a very strong cam...it's what I'd go with. I would recommend getting LT1 edit with it though, save you some $ on tuning.
