Well, if it wasnt for the fact that my hub puller is to small for the bolts, and the damn banjo fittings that hold the water line to the back of the heads, I would be completely broke down.
Everything I have pulled off looks to be in excellant shape, there was not so much as a wear mark on the driver side rr/valve stems/pushrods. I havent got to look at the combustion chambers yet, because of that damn water line fittings, but I will tomarrow. Hopefully by next week, I will have everything broke down, cleaned up, and rebuilt (ie. waterpump and opti). If my parts come in pretty soon, I may be fully up in a couple of weeks.
I have alot of little bs to install, but if I can get the car running, it will make me very happy. Bottom line, fuel lines are a bitch to unhook if you dont know the size, radiator and condensor dont want to come apart, water fittings on the back of the heads blow, and there are alot more hoses and hookups on a manifold than you realize.

Rob I feel your pain on that rdiator condensor separation . I did not want to disconnect the A/c hoses soit took me a little while to get them apart . T5he real pain was shoving both back together and ensuring that it stayed together with the fans. now that was a PITA.

I've heard that you can remove the heads at the same time so you dont have to remove the water cross over tube. If thats hard, I know you can pretty easily access it from the back if you pull the tranny down, I've had mine down enough times to know. Hey, its just the excuse you need to buy and install that new clutch!:)

Thats what I came up with too, seems like the best way to get 'em out. But whoever made them that hard to get at, needs they're ass kicked.
On a side note, every last bolt in my intake was loose!! There was plenty of rtv, but the bolts werent tight at all (maybe 5ftlb at max) and I found the intake oil leak (imagine that) so that should be fixed forever, and with no EGR there is no chance of it melting the seal between the intake and block.

If you go down to a pep boys they have the tool to disconnect your fuel lines quick and easy. There called heating and airconditioning disconnect clamps or somthing to that affect. I bought a set a year ago from pep boys in NC. There about 8 circles all of them different sizes you slide them up and it pops the lines right off. Not sure if you already had them or not. They make the job a lot quicker, they cost about 12.00 dollars.

I had something like that, (like 4 differant sizes) but until I figured out how to finesse them off, it was a struggle. Kinda a pull apart, push tool in, twist/push fuel line together, pull. I was expecting a old faithful style geyser of fuel to come out but just got a couple of drops.
The only thing holding me up now, is my hub puller has to small of openings for the damper bolts to fit thru, so I have to find another hub puller.
As far as pep boys? I wish, in Lawton Ok, we have autozone and Oreily's or post office........Boooooooo!

You probably have the same fuel line pullers I have (if there little white plastic circles) And as far as pep boys go's I wish we had anything except afees over here. I need a micromoter to measure some springs. And I know it's going to take a good couple of weeks to ship here. I have everything minus the micromoter I only hope I have the patience to wait for the micromoter. I'm getting that little kid in the candy store feeling.
