Well it went on A5 on the way back from the airport. I now only have 4th gear. Its wierd cuz I was crusing in 6th when it went and now I only have 4th? It will go into all other gears but 4th is the only one that works. All others are either 4th or neutral.
I think the clutch grenaded also as I hear "He said POOP" rattling around in the bell housing area. So if anyone knows of anyone with a T-56 for sale or somone who can fix and rebuild mine please let me know.
Jeff

I know of a person having similar problems with his transmission and it was the syncronizers. That could very well be the problem. When the syncronizers go out the tranny doesn't know how far to shift so It might just not be engaging the gears all the way inside the tranny. If your tranny was blown blown not saying for sure but you should hear broken pieces rattling or clunking inside. Just a thought I know this happened to someone I know stateside. And he had it fixed pretty quik if you trying to save money then get this checked.
Also just another thought when my clutch went out the only gear I could find was 5th after I replaced the clutch I had them all back. Just a thought.

Tony could get it fixed for you. If you pull it and take it to his shop he would be able to give you a estiment. He stays busy though.

I have tried on getting ahold of Tony about other stuff but I never got a reply or anything from him, so I am looking elsewhere on a new one as I have e-mailed several places in the states for prices. I have had no luck on used ones as of yet. If I blow another clutch or tranny, I may go with a A4. The only thing is, I hear that people who put down more than 500 rwhp are in need of yearly re-builds on thier automatics, and the guys who are putting down major HP switch to the M6. Oh, well wish me luck!

I have thought about the same stuff and I like shifting. Try the salvage yards in the states and air freight it?

In the back of Gm high tech they have used parts try one of those and see if maybe they have one. No offense to the automatic but I had one in another Z28 I had it was a 95 and it wasn't nearly as much fun to drive.

My rev-limiter was set at around 5900 that day, stock programing, plus the tranny was starting "He said POOP" the bed on me so I was babying it by the lift throttle shifting. At least it bought me another week though. I just started my car today. And it sounds bad, I am sure the tranny is scattered, I only have 4th all other gears are neutral. I am looking into getting cast iron shift forks so it will be as good as it gets.
I seriously doubt that I will go the slush-box route. I too like to shift, but you know what things a down car can make you think. I have tried some of the salvage yards, I hope I get a e-mail tomorrow. I have also e-mailed, Pace, Dal and Jason Cromer on new units. How much you think it would cost to get a new one sent over here? How long you think it would take?

I would think it wouldn't cost to much. If it costs about 600 to ship an engine that weighs alot it probably shouldn't cost that much to ship 150pnd transmission. It's worth looking into. Let me know if you need any help.
