yeah that would have been interesting , but I think the desired effect was achieved (atleast for me) I just had to see what the LS1 3rd gear charge was all about.
I still havent been able to equal the trap time I got in your car yet ...damit! I need to find 1/2 mph somewhere.

Sergio? For all your susupension goodies. GO BMR! They got good packages and cheap and basically any color too.
Had they been out yrs ago I would've went that route myself!

I believe that's their website. Check it out!

I'll second that. I went with Hotchkis and ended up paying probably double what a BMR setup would cost.
But whichever route you go, I cant stress enough, if your suspension is setup right, you will be significantly quicker than a high horsepower car with a stock setup. (until he hooks in 3rd gear that is)
BTW - you are correct about that 306 wav, I had the 305 and hotcam also, but I figured you already had them.

As for suspension, if you check my signature in the Members section you'll see that i got my suspension pretty much down to handle enough HP for the next few years, apart from a torque arm (doesn't fit on the V6).
I agree on BMR and frankly i was one of the first to order from Brett after being refered by Jordon Musser back in 1997.
He has good products indeed but not all his stuff is the best like most think. I picked my parts specificly and for instance his Subframe connectors are simply not as rigid as the Kenny brown double diamnond ones or the SLP version i have. I also care for looks and the V6/SS style hotchkiss STB can't be beat ! It also is A LOT easier to remove when you have to work on that engine.
As you can see i'm not loyal to any brand or shop i pick my parts looking at function/price/looks.
Robert made some good points and i'm thinking of getting the following:
- MAC headers/Y-pipe
- Offroad pipe
- Under drive pulley
- LT-4 Hot cam kit (with 1.6 rr's)
- LT4 heavy duty timing chain kit
- MGF Custom PCM programming
- 3.42 gears
- Do some of the 'free' mods
Once i have that engine running like it should somewhere this time next year i'll start saving up some $$ and worry about ported heads, bigger TB and things like that.
What do you guys think ? Feel free to argument/disagree with me.

A suspension side note, the companies usually design they're products in a total package mindset, so sometimes it is not a good idea to mix and match LCA, Panhards, springs and so on. Probably wouldnt make a real BIG differance, but it might become a factor. When and if you decide to get a torque arm, I would recommend looking into the BMR adjustable, or the Trac-link adjustable.
On the water pump, look into the electric water pumps, you save some HP, and you can use a better timing chain. Practically anyone you want to for a SBC. I saw a dyno on before after and it was good for 4.5-5hp, so it is defiantly worth looking into.

Oh yeah, forgot about the waterpump.
I was looking into the meziere waterpump (electric) so i could fit the Cloyes dual roller timing chain which runs in at $90 so the savings compared to the Lt4 heavy duty chain kit would be put towards the electric waterpump.
The only thing i'm worried about is if that 94 Optispark cover would work with the cloyes dual roller chain setup.

I've been lead to believe that, I cant say I've seen one installed, but alot of people have done it and reported good results.
And like a good little sheep, I'm going to follow them.

So you are gonna do this very same setup (including the meziere waterpump) also ??
I believe the dual chain + sprockets are a total of just $90 !

When I have the valvetrain redone this winter, I will also have the mezeire water pump/Cloyes double roller installed, hell its cheaper than putting on the LT4 extreme duty chain by itself!!!

Yup, that's EXACTLY the reason for me to take this route since i'm tied to a budget so this timing chain setup will save me serious $$$ that will be put towards the waterpump as that probable needs to be replaced anyway since the engine is used and has run 90K miles i believe ..

You will have to use a 95 style opti to use the Cloyes, or anyother timing chain set. I found this information on Jordan Mussers site.
