well this isnt the best, but it was cold and snowing, and I found out I have a coolant issue. Dont know if its a leak, or I just have to burp the radiator. Thank god for scanmaster or I wouldnt have know that the temp was 250 and climbing!!!!!(hooking up the temp gauge might be a good idea also!:) )

anyway, you'll get the idea

Hey Rob not saying you don't know but did you bleed the radiator lines. The 2 screws ones on the thermostat cover and the other is on the line next to the thermostat cover. All you have to do is bring the car up to temp and when it starts rising turn the screws to release the air you may have to give it just a little throttle using your hand on the throttle body. You probably already know this I just figured I would help. Good luck and I'm downloading right now. :)

Rob your my hero man. The car sounds intense you definatly have some nice lobe. Is that the LT4 hotcam you have in there or did you go with somthing different? You discredited yourself by saying the video wasn't good. I'm ready to put the sound of your car on my computer boot up :)

Thanks alot!!! I just keep waiting for something to raise its ugly head and grenade the motor.

I got the exhaust hooked up, and the radiator situation taken care of. Now I just have to re-adjust the RR's. They just dont sound right, kinda like I have 'em to loose. Thanks for the rad burping advice, I had read that before, but I didnt do it. On my 5mile round triper it never got over 176deg.

I found out also, that because the oil filter sits almost directly over the driver side collector, a person should be careful when changing the oil. My car is still burning it off :) Tomarrow it will go up on the ramps and get cleaned up and another once over.

I'll post a vid soon of the car with exhaust, the lope was kinda self induced, because I found a vacumn leak by the egr valve.

I know how you feel on this one. You keep listening for noises that arn't there. I think I was perenoid for the first week and then when I got comfortable the big Boom! Happened. If It was because of me I would never touch the car again. Damn GM's half fasting things (Pick up line).

I would definatly like to see another video with the exhaust on. There's nothing like listening to a cammed car to get ideas as to what I'm going to go with for cam selection this time. Yours definatly sounds intense even if it was self inflicted. When I get my car running I might just have to hook somthing up so when i'm sitting at a stop light and a ricer pulls up I can flick a switch and have instant vacumme leak.

Here's the ? I'm sure you havn't gotton on it yet but does it feel more powerfull than the Stang?

When I first got the 5.0 I had been without the Z. My first impressions were "wow" this is quick. Jeff tried to bring me back to reality, telling me the real deal, but I was ......?

Anyway, to make a long story average sized. It was a combination of noise(luv the sound), sitting straight up(opposed to laying down in the Z) and the ultra close ratio of a T5 with 4.10's(big diff between T56 and T5 with 4.10's) that made me wrongly assume it was faster.

The dyno doesnt lie, and with 209rwhp and 257 rwtq(cam is killing tq) its plain to see the lil pony is outgunned. The 1/8 mph also tells the tale. 78-79mph Z, 74-76 5.0 (old combo on Z).

I got the 5.0 mainly to play with, and beat on. Its a little light car that companies practically give parts away for. (headers $120, H pipe $80, heads $500-750pair).

so bottom line is the Z is alot faster once the launch is over. I would guess the diff in the 1/8 is around 1-1.5sec and the 1/4 2sec. However the Z is done with engine parts, and 5.0 is destined to be a drag car, so with the GT40 intake I have and the 150shot plus the ported Canfield heads this guy I know wants to dump for $200, this story will drastically change in the near future.

Man I must love to type :)

Don't feel bad it happened to me to. I hadn't driven my Z in a few months and I got behind the wheel again and thought it was a pro dragger. After not driving it for this long I can only imagine how fast it's going to feel especially since it won't be even close to what it was before. The 5.0 is definatly a car to use for the track , cheap parts, variety and a lot of people have already worked out the bugs. Glad to hear you drifted back on the F-body's quicker side. You almost had me convinced to trade mine in on an older 5.0 J/k. When are you going to post the next video?
