Hey when you ordered your LT4 heads through scoggin Dickey did you get the complete LT4 package. If so do you have an option on what type of cam you want with the package or do you have to take the LT4 hotcam. I'm trying to find the biggest bang for the buck when I order this stuff. I've tried to call these people but they never answer there phone. Appreciate it !!!!

When are you getting the Camaro Dynoed? it should be some impresive numbers!

The heads are a deal to themselves. You have to order the cam kit seperate, so I dont see why you couldnt pick your own cam, except that the LT4 springs are pretty well maxed out with the .525 int/exh lift of the hotcam.

I will get you the exact length of the pushrods you need with the heads and 1.6r.r so you dont have the same problems I had. Cost me a new set of RR and pushrods. My new suggestions are Pro Magnum rockers and upgrade to 7/16 studs. The heads also dont come with a couple of plugs you need (coolant passage on drivers front, passenger side)

Unless something pee's on my parade, I should have the car back tonight, figure about another week to wear in the clutch and new valvetrain parts (assuming everything is right....((please, please, please..) I should have some new baselines by mid march.

Appreciate the info on the LT4 heads. I'm definatly looking forward to seeing your dyno numbers. It's always nice to see what someone else is running with a similar setup.

Well, I got it back. I figured it would be the same car, just alittle more power wrong. I was coming from a toll booth, and pretty much freaked myself out.

John, you had pretty much if not exactly the same setup that I do, and I cant imagine wanting more. Just, wow

The only thing, besides it being totally trashed in the clean department, is it is running really fat. I might throw on a AFPR that has been laying around, and bring down the pressure alittle, and I'm also gonna shoot Ed a E-mail, and see if he can fine tune the tune.

All I can say about the Star clutch, is get one. It has a real soft pedal, and the kevlar grips like a mofo. (remember when I stalled your car out like 3 times in a row Jeff?) It engages just like that.

Since I had to replace the RR's, I went with the Pro Magnums and 7/16 studs. I figured that the stock covers (which I was advised to keep using) would have to be hacked up to clearance them (I now know alittle trick).

The LT4 setup will also rev up, like right now. I guess that extra .7pts on compression with the "impy" gaskets will do that, along with some really free breathing heads and lighter valvetrain.

Ryan, IMHO you cant do better for less, or a great deal more than the ported LT4 setup. You will have great power up until 6200-6400(dyno will show the fall off), and you will have something the other guy doesnt, torque off idle.

Man I'm stoked up right now, just had to rant

C'ya
Rob

Gladd to hear everything came out alright! It seems you found yourself a pretty good mechanic there. I wish I could go for a ride. Just think, when you get it dyno tuned, it will put out more. Are you still going to run the NOS?

Have fun with it, and post some kills!!

Jeff

P.S Have you sent the package?

It's sweet you got everything back in good order. You make me jealous, but only for a while. Mine will be done soon.

Yep Rob the power is there. I was amazed at how once it got past 2200 rpm it just shot through the roof on power. Do you get the 1800 rpm surge or is yours just pulling from the get go? Mine did only for a wk or so and then after that it was balls to the walls.

I miss that ol bastard too....oh well. I'll say you'll be putting close to 370-380 @ the wheel. Only because your car was strong to begin w/. George had fits playin w/ you in the day. Take it to Ed and dyno tune it's worth the money and will be consistent throughout it's time. Glad to hear you are more than pleased...

Rob Congrads on being back up and running. I've heard nothing but good things about the LT4 setup and a plus on your part getting the ported heads. The numbers the LT4's are producing are in my eyes extremely impressive. I know right now the big eyes are on the LS1 all I can say is, I like being the under dog. There's nothing like whooping up on someone who thinks there indistructable :). Congrads on the ride still can't wait to see those dyno sheets. I know listening to the progress your making it's making me extremely impatient to get mine up and running.
