Tracy, or anyone else out there,I know you just replaced your clutch, how hard was it to install. I will be putting one in in about a month or so. Where did you do it at? Any info will help.

I put it in at the Spang hobby shop and it took me and a friend about 4 hours with a quick lunch break. It isn't hard at all, but then I am an automotive mechanic and have done several clutches on various cars/trucks/buses. Now that I have done the one on the Camaro I know I could cut the time down some as long as there are no problem areas. If you need some help I will do my best to give you a hand. What clutch are you going to order?

Thanks y'all. I havn't purchased it yet. doing research first. I heard the Centerforce was a good choice but I've heard problems about them as well like not being able to shift very easily. Don't know if he just trouble or what. Any suggestions?

Centerforce is junk for the LT1. Just my opinion. Took one out in a little over a year. The SPEC stage III (what I have now) grips like a mofo and is pedal feel is barely stronger than stock, but not much. Deffinitely my recomendation.
The clutch isn't hard at all, took me awhile but that was because I had my flywheel resurfaced (which I would recomend). The hardest part was man handling the whole transmission and getting it to slide all the way on the shaft but when you finally do it's GREAT, like popping a...
Anyway I have the Centerforce and have had it for about 2 years without any probs. The problem most often heard about is the pressure it takes to go into 1st on occasion, but if you cycle the shifter through all the gears once starting with 2nd it falls right into first. I think it is a great clutch but I have only had a stock one to compare it to.
