How do you know you are going past 90mph???? J/K :)

Glad that worked, I wish most problems were that easy, to temporarily work around.

If you still get the revs I guess you can still calculate how fast you're going ...
Hey, My96z, what all stops working once you disconnect it? Does the computer still count the miles? You could put a switch in the center console and just disable the governor when you need it ... !? Where exactly did you disconnect it? Tony is checking into my car's governor (met him in Nürnberg), so hopefully I will not have to start messin' around with that ... (and then, 125 sounds a lot better than 90 ... :) )

Have you ever tried to get a hypertech for a 98 V6? I think their V6 production has been out of production for a couple years already ...

Yeah, I kinda figured you could tell you were going faster than 90 by the revs??!!!

A Hypertech will cure what ails your speedo, buy will untune your engine to hell and back, if you use the "power program". Seems like a very expensive speedo, fan switch to me. I know, I was a sucker once too.

I'm glad Jeff finally got that beast past 90, now if he could get some 1000 deg proof plug wires there will be hell to pay in the Darmstadt area! ;)

There is no such thing as a 98 v6 programmer, never was never will be.

Only the years 94+95 received a programmer in small numbers that is and is now extremely rare.

The only thing that doesnt work is the speedo, miles arent even counted either. I am not going to get the hypertech cuz I am sending my pcm off to Mustgofaster.net for a custom tune and obd1 conversion at the end of the month.
The plug that I disconnected is the last plug on the left/rear side of the tranny(M6), just before the output shaft. I can tell I am going past 90 cuz I can wind out 3rd now,and 4th and 5th (before it cut off just before the top of 3rd with my 4.10's).
Yes, Rob, those accel x-treme 9000 seemed to be holding, you know I cant wait till the next meeting! ;)
