A friend managed to get me on the ADAC test bench today for a dyno test...
Anybody who knows my car knows it´s not groomed in any way so i was very surprised it shows 180 rwhp instead of the registrated 155 hp. We also had a 200 rwhp run, but the automatic did nonsense (need new filter and fluid).
Note: TBI spacer not jet installed (screws still on their way).
The tech guy told me it´s no good idea to tune the car for longer rides, it will get too hot, but a 100hp shot would be a good idea for the osl races...
Let´s see if i can talk my girl into that...
Dyno results with TBI spacer and without air cleaner (just for fun) next week.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I wouldn't post those numbers in a public place.

It depends...
Your a military-guy with no TÃœV regulations. In that position you can play with your car as you like (almost).
I´m a german guy with (damn) TÜV duty and already lost a ´85 Trans Am to the police because it was "too loud".
I did TÜV Tuesday and barely passed. You know why ? The rear pipes of the exhaust are not "stock" (i just used some straight pipes to give the car a little more looks). Notice: The cat is in place and the muffler is a "walker quietflow". The emission tests were ok (i had to disable the air pump to pass tests), it´s just the "its no stock and you have no german papers for the part".
I HATE IT !
I can do nearly NOTHING to the car without getting in trouble.
So you guys play around with all the great toys and we krauts paint our ´maros dull black and listen to the sound of your flowmasters...

Don't you really love TÃœV? The should just stick to mandatory safety things and possibly extreme mods, but should keep their butt out of little mods ... I wonder if I'll get into trouble because the sway bar/pan hard replacements ... I'll probably drive down to Schweinfurt or up to Kassel and try to get my wheels registered ... all three Hersfeld places complained about 'em ... :-/

Those are dicent number for the 3rd gen. I know a white one with red stripes and if he had about 10 more stickers/stripes he'd have about 180.

John ? I think he tried to polish my car first time we met at BP. The ´maro was really scared... Lost some drops... Has never seen such a thing before...
The polish-thing-thread in this forum is a funny example... I´m even to lazy to paint the car primerblack (found an inexpensive source for acryl cans), though i like the underdog looks...
No, i´m happy if the car runs fine and kicks some (small) ass. It´s just for fun...
BTW: My private administration forbid the nitro thingy and osl thing for now. Kenny´s crash backed her fears...

The '91 TBI was rated at 170bhp so 180 is pretty impressive given that your tranny will rob about 40. Werd.

Yesterday I installed the tbi-spacer (at last - http://www.online-schrauben.de had the right screws)...
Two probs:
1. The hood doesn´t close - it touches the tbi unit (let alone the air filter case)
2. The acceleration cable (right word ?) is too short now - as the tbi is lifted 1,5 inches... It looks like it´s not adjustable...
The hood problem is a killer for the german TÃœV regulations: Lifting the hood or cutting a hole and installing a after market thingy on the hood makes the modification too obvious...
I´ll change my sig back to no mods...

Ah yes gotta love a good 1 legger.. old school
I miss my 5.0 TPI 86 IROC it may have be slow and balless compared to my 94Z28 but for some reason it was just more fun to drive. It FELT just as fast. I beat on that thing mercilessly for the 2 months I had it. I sold it to a friend for $500, $2000 less than what people were offering me. He blew the motor in a week. he didnt care becuase I gave him a good deal though lol
